Renunciation delay

Post by crazytester » Mon Mar 25, 2024 11:57 am

Hi All,

I applied for renunciation on the 2nd of January (80+ days now) and am still waiting for an update. I contacted CGI Birmingham and the text below is the response I received. Does anyone know what type of clearance they are waiting for before issuing the renunciation certificate?

"Dear Applicant

Still awaiting clearances. its takes min 60-80 days for clearances.
"

TIA

Same here, I applied a couple of weeks before you, in December 2023 @VFS Goswell. It's been more than 3 months since my application and no updates what so ever. Atleast the CGI Birmingham replied to your enquiry, I emailed Goswell multiple times without any luck.

This is shocking, I guess I've also got a few months more at least for getting the renunciation cert. I haven't got the surrender certificate either and it's been over approx 3 weeks
I guess we need to use visas to travel in the interim
