Require guidence regarding Tier 1 dependent visa

Me and my wife came to UK on separate visas and met here. We went back to India to get married. We didn't know that we can only apply for dependent from the country of residence, so we applied for my wife's dependent visa while I extended his Tier 1 visa. My extension was granted, but my wife's visas are refused based on the fact that we should have applied to the country of residence.

Now, we are planning that my wife should go to India with all the documents and apply first for biometric appointment and then visa. We have couple of questions:
1. Does anyone know how to get appointment for biometric data for Mumbai office, how quickly do they give the appointment and return the data information. Because I cannot apply for visa without this data info.
2. There is a question in the VFS10 if you have refused visa and if you have refused entry clearance, just to confirm as I am already here, in my case it will be only visa refusal and not the clearance refusal, right?
3. We are planning to show only his bank details, but the house that we have rented is on both of our name, so this won't be a problem, right?
4. Does anyone know approximate timescale for Tier 1 dependent visa process?

1. The biometrics are collected at the same time when you submit the application at VFS office.
2. Q6.3 - refusal for leave to enter (EC/visa); Q6.8 - grant / refusal for leave to remain (also a visa).
3. Bank statement(s) and tenancy agreement have no correlation.
4. Usually 1 week for straightforward applications, but can be anywhere between 1-4 weeks. See out-of-country application processing time.

So, no separate appointment for biometrics then? Please correct me if I am wrong, so they will ask my wife to come of one of the day and time that we provide on the booking email, and then on that day they will collect the biometric data first and then accept all her paperwork.

Yes

Q6.5 Have you ever been refused entry on arrival to the UK?
No.

(Home Office have written a letter to us which explain the clause on which the application is rejected, but they have said she doesn't need to leave the country till May,2010 when her visa are expiring)

1. Yes when your wife goes for submitting visa application and docs.. Biometric will be taken at that time..

You have been refused "leave to remain" (when you applied for dependent visa from within UK). Leave to remain is applied for from within UK. Has any other leave to remain appliction also been refused? Answer Q6.8 accordingly.

Thank you for the reply.

My wife applied for the dependent visa for the UK from within UK, while I was extending my HSMP. It was refused because we should have applied from India. She has been granted student visa previously and have travelled to India twice and never been refused to enter the UK. She applied for visa for Spain and Greece from the UK and has been granted the visa both the times.

Based on this,

6.3 Have you ever been refused a visa for any country including the UK?
Yes (I would appreciate this answer especially as there is no mention whether you should write yes, only if you applied from outside or inside of the UK in the guidance note)

6.7 Have you ever been deported, removed or otherwise required to leave any country, including the UK?
No (She is planning to go to India before her current visa expires, and the home office refusal letter for dependent visa states that you do not need to leave the country because of this refusal, you can stay till the end of your current visa).

6.8 Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?
Yes ( We applied for her dependent visa while I was extending my HSMP, she has never extended her visa since she came here, she has never applied for any other visa for the UK than first student from India and second dependent visa from here this time, so we need to write yes here, am I correct?)

me and my wife is on safe situation.I am on hsmp and she on psw.She is going to india on june to apply for dependent visa.My question is how much maintaince fund should i show and for how long
