Residence Card after Citizenship ceremony

Post by StruggleisReal » Wed Nov 06, 2024 11:28 am

Hello

I have attended British citizenship ceremony last week and today is the 5th working day.

I have not yet applied for British Passport but will do soon and I have also not returned my Residence card which was issued to me under EUSS

I know that a BRP needs to be returned within 5 working days, but is it the same for Residence Card too?

Please can someone reply asap, I do not want to return my residence card yet as I do not have any form of ID otherwise

Thanks

I believe yours is called a BRC, family member of EU citizen.
Don't take any notice of the threat of a fine, keep yours as ID until you have a British passport.
Regarding the threat of a fine we have yet to see any substantiated reports of this (certainly not in the 8 years I have been on this forum).
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
