Residence Requirements For Naturalisation

Post by anni.wangol » Sat Oct 18, 2014 9:36 am

Dear all,

I hope you are well. My question is regarding Form AN/Section 2.2 (please give details of all absences from the United Kingdom during the last 5 years). In 2013, I visited a number of EU member of countries including Italy, Spain, Germany and France. I got my Schengen visa from Italian embassy and they issued visa based on my trip to Italy and the other 3 EU countries. My first port of entry was Italy, and I returned to UK from France (France was my final destination). As a result, I have 2 stamps on my passport, one from Italian immigration and the other from France border agency.

Now the point of confusion is when it comes to completing section 2.2, (Country visited, Date of Departure from United Kingdom, Date of Return to the United Kingdom, Total Number of Days absent). My questions are as follows:

1.Should I write the names of all four EU countries I visited all in one row/one column (as the Date of Departure from UK and Date of Return to UK is still the same)?
2.Or, should I write them separately (one in each row), this will then become very confusing as the Date of Departure from UK and Date of Return to UK is still the same!

Thanks for your help in advance.

Just write all countries visited during this trip in one line; that's what a friend did for her around the world trip...I don't think it really matters but it's a lot less confusing...Maybe also write an explanation in brackets just to be on the safe side! :)
All information given is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
