retension allowance in payslip - Tier 1 extension

Post by argus7 » Fri Sep 09, 2011 4:32 pm

I have searched/ read the T1 policy guidance document, but there is no mention of any retention allowance (whether its accepted as earnings) or not

Situation:- My employer pays me a small retention allowance as a part of my GROSS salary. I get this for 3-4 months. Can this be shown? as it appears in GROSS salary.

Anybody with a similar situation

Then yes!

But the caseworker may be surprised to see that this allowance is not paid regularly. So, a brief explanation in a covering letter should help.
