returning resident visa

Post by fong » Wed Apr 13, 2011 3:05 pm

hi please help me - i am from Hong Kong, and I have Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK for 2 years.

I came to Madrid for sightseeing 2 w/ends ago and had my passport with my ILR in it stolen. I received emergency travel document from the Chinese authories last Friday, went straight to the UK embassy for a returning resident visa this Monday just gone.

can anyone tell me how long it will take for the visa to come through? they indicate a couple of days but it's been more than 48 hrs since they took my finger prints etc. what is the work flow? will they need to check with the Home Office in the UK?

any info will be marvellous. i have been stuck in spain for close to 2 weeks and i am at the risk of losing my job. it is very stressful.

thanks so much
