Romanian wife

Hi, I've recently married my wife who is Romanian. She is currently living with me (since just before the wedding) but we havent yet applied for leave to remain. I've just been to see a solicitor who told me that she would have to go back to Bucharest and apply there for leave to remain, which could take up to 3 months. This is extremely difficult as she has no family in Bucharest and no job there any more, and we already moved all her stuff over here (and obviously I dont want to be apart from her for that long). Is there really no way to apply from here?

Are u in the UK? Are you British or have ILR/PR?

If so as far as I know she can just stay here, she's an EU citizen. I'm prepared to be wrong on this, there's funny rules for Roms and Bulgars.

Yeah, were in the UK at the moment. Im a British national.
As far as I know, Romanians can only stay if they have leave to remain or a skilled worker permit, although she can stay for 90 day periods but without working
