Salary multiplier

Post by viky_paws » Sat Apr 17, 2010 5:19 pm

Hi,

I earn 21000 Pounds in UK as allowance and my company pays me a salary of 400000 INR in India as well. I have been in Uk for the last 15 months. I would like to know if I can use the uplift ratio to my Indian component of salary or not.

I pay tax based on my indian salary.

No. The main component used in determining whether to apply the uplift ratio is your physical location at the time you earned the money( this also means when the money was credited in to your personal account)
So since you've been PHYSICALLY present in the UK you'd have to convert the 400000INR to pounds without applying any uplift ratio.
