SALARY Period for tier 1 Extension.

I have got a very simple question about earning period claimed as salaried employee. I have to show my last 12 month income from 1st Oct 2011 to 30 Sept 2012. which is fine but my salary is paid into my bank account on 12th of each month. For example Feb 2012 salary was paid on 12 march 2012.
I need to know should I mention my previous 12 month earning period from 12th oct 2011 to 12 Sep 2012 or 1st Oct 2011 to 30 Sep to claim past 12 months earning or exclude one month salary from 12th month period.

You claim the salary that enters your bank account.
