Salary question for HSMP

Hi,

One of my friend is working in UK for last one year, he is through an Indian software conmapy and want to apply for HSMP.

His company do not pay taxes for some reason but pay NI and other contributions. If he applies on the basis of UK salary, he does not qualify for HSMP. He is getting his indian salary in India and he qualifies for HSMP if he applies on the basis on Indian salary alone.

So my question is, can he apply for HSMP just on the basis of Indian salary alone ( he does not even mention his UK salary) ?

Has anyone done something like that?
