SAR - entry and exits for ILR

Post by malepiscean » Mon Apr 18, 2011 2:30 pm

Hi everyone - I searched the forum extensively before posting this so I hope this is not a repetitive post.

1) While making a SAR request can I ask for "all" landing cards (I expect it to be roughly 300-ish cards!) since I first entered UK (01-Feb-2007) and subsequently for all returns to UK from my travels? My assumption is this is the most accurate to way to determine all the UK-entry dates? Has anyone ever asked for and received so many landing cards in their SAR file?

2) For UK-exit dates I read a post saying 'e-Borders' maintains all such information? How do I ask for this aspect in the same SAR request?

I'd like to know a sample text that makes the request very clearly for (1) and (2).

3) I hope there is no form I have to fill out to make a SAR? If yes, can someone please point me to it?

4) According to Chapter 24 - Section 11 of IDI, the postal order needs to be made in favour of "The Accounting Officer – Home Office"; while UKBA SAR Page says it should be made to "The Home Office Accounting Officer". I'm hoping either should be okay? (I only saw the subtle difference after getting a PO made using the latter option. :-(

Many thanks in advance.

This is not answer to your question (sorry) but could you please post what information are you requesting from UKBA in SAR?

1) I'm basically trying to determine all my UK exit and entry dates accurately for the purposes of ILR.
2) I have my personal records (email based airline booking confirmations, e-tickets etc), but most of my travels are business related and involved date changes at the last minute...so its turning out to be difficult.
3) I'm assuming SAR can provide me with such info with 100% accuracy. Therefore, I was hoping to get a list of UK exits from landing cards and UK entries through e-Borders.

Hope this clarifies now?
