Scanned Documents ok or not?

Post by twinbanj » Tue Jul 12, 2011 2:50 am

Hello

My wives recent application failed, and part of the reason was that the pay slips I sent were scanned and not the origionals. We live in different countries at the moment and are worried that the document origionals may get lost in the post (either in the UK or in China).

From recent succesful applications, what is the concensus on the validity of scanned documents?

For payslips they want the origional, but what about 3rd party support morgatge statements, house ownership documents, bank statements etc? Do these also need to be origionals? I feel extremely unconfortable sending my parents house ownership and support documents through the post.

Also, post can take up to a month to arrive, so even if bank statements were sent the same day they arrived, it could mean that they would be a month out of date by the time they reached my advice...

So, which documents are ok to submit as scanned documents?

They don't accept scanned or faxed documents. Only originals or certified copies.

Don't send these important documents by Royal Mail. You need to send them by a courier company like DHL or FedEx. That way they arrive in a quick and secure manner. It will cost a bit more but is worth it!
