Scengen visa to france

Just had a query on schengen visa ,
At present i hold a ILR and have a schengen visa to italy(type of visa -C) and it mentions Invito(under Remarks) as its a business visa issued for training

the situation is i am planning to visit paris in december and my schengen visa is valid until 20/12/11 ,i am in a fix if i can travel to france on same visa ?

tried to look for this information but its very confusing

can i call the french consulate to check on this to get it clarified ?

As i am not able to get the required info on any websites
