Schengen Business Visa - Invitation

Post by gaurav0098 » Thu Apr 30, 2015 12:22 pm

Hi,

I have a typical question about Schengen Business Visa. I am an Indian national and working in UK. The organization I work for has sales force present in Europe which is based out of respective regions however they don't have a registered sales office.

I need to apply for Schengen Business Visa to visit this sales force and to do customer visits etc. The problem is that since the company doesn't have registered office in any of the European countries that they are present in, we can't get invitation letter released only through the UK entity which is not acceptable according to documents required information on Netherlands, Germany and France website.

Can the sales person in the respective country provide me with an invitation letter to process the visa application or it needs to come from a registered entity only?

Also, I have got 2 Schengen visa stamped on my passport earlier (for 1 month and then 6 month multi entry). My total stay is not going to exceed 90 days in 180 day period. How can I request for 1 year multi entry business visa?

Not sure if I can accurately answer your first question. From what I recall the invitation letter needs to be on a official company letter head and include the required information detailed on the consulate website. So unless the salesperson you refer to can do this, I'm not sure that it will be acceptable. Wait for others to comment.

The request for the specified number of entries & visa validity period should be mentioned in your employer letter (business introduction letter) & also ideally in your invitation letter which should explain the reason why it's required. From what I recall you have an option to select the number of entries in the form as well.

I applied for a 1 year multiple entry visa (for business purposes) early last year, but was only granted a multiple entry visa that was valid for 3 months. I was however granted a 2 year circulation visa after 2 successive 3 month multiple entry visas were issued over the same year. So thereby I'd say that your previous Schengen travel history will certainly play a part in what you are ultimately granted.
