Schengen or EEA family permit for Spouse?

Hi Friends
I am a naturalised British, my wife is Indian, currently on spouse dependent visa. She will be naturalised after couple of years time.
We are planing to go for weekend holidays to different European cities, may be several times during the summer. I think I don't need visa, but for my wife what is the best/long term/not so expensive/ visa I can apply for?
Is it Schengen or EEA family permit? Could you please advise me.

schengen visa - will be issued free of charge to your wife.
