Schengen VISA for Germany - from UK

Dear friends,

I am an Indian National (non-EU) and currently working in UK on PSW Visa (Tier-1). I want to go to Germany for PhD interview from 26th to 30th April, 2011. I have following questions.

1) Which particular Schengen VISA I should apply for? As I am just going for interview?
2) What documents I should incorporate?
3) When should I apply for visa? I have to be there on 26th morning.
