Schengen Visa Spain

I am hoping to go to spain or greece next month. Anyone had any dealings with Spanish/grecian embassy? I was issued with a french schengen previously (now expired). Did not use it as my little one got sick and then my debit card was cloned so no money.
Going to try again 8) for my first trip abroad.
