Schengen visa

Post by Hayes » Thu May 25, 2006 1:06 pm

I was recently issued a schengen visa by the French embassy for my trip to France. However, I will have to postpone my trip.

Will I be able to apply a new schengen visa?

Hayes, don't that depend upon the end date on the visa? If you are still able to undertake the trip and get back before the end date on the Schengen visa, then you will not need another visa.

If your trip will end after the end date on the visa, well clearly you will need to apply for another one.

John

The reason my trip will have to be postponed is because my friend , whom Im travelling with didn't get her visa. the embassy asked her to bring back some more documents and the next appointment availaible is only in a month time, well after my planned trip and my visa expiry.

My concern is if I apply for a new visa, the embassy may claim that I didn't use my previous visa as obviously it won't bear a stamp.

Are they allowed to refuse a visa on the ground that you didn't make use of a previous visa?
