Schooling for Kids on EEA Permits

This is an area for the discussion of matters related to issues about moving from one country to another. Examples could be about money transfer, moving and packing, validity of driving licence, etc..

It is not a general non-immigration, free-for-all area.

Schooling for Kids on EEA Permits

Post by boutya58 » Tue May 31, 2011 12:23 pm

Hi,

Our two kids have joined us in Northern Ireland on EEA Family Permits and we are trying to get then into school.

The girl is 14 and we have applied to get her into a state funded school.

As the boy is 17, is he still eligible to apply for a state funded school? or as we are being advised he will be treated as an International Student and the relevant fees applied for any course he takes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Stephen
