science and engineering scheme advise

Need some urgaent help please . i am currently running a masters course on a 2 year student visa expiring on 10/10/07. i am eligible for a 1 year work permit by reason of my course. however i want to start ful time employment in january 07. therefore my questions are

1. is there a way to apply for the science and engineering scheme 1 year work permit even before my student visa has expired ????

2. and if not can i get any form of documentation that can enable me take up ful time employment before then ????????
please help !!!!
