I might be wrong and this is my own opinion. I do not see the problem. Take the documents you need with you as per invitation. You don't have to live in the same council and it's reasonable that your address might change as it has. Just go and enjoy the ceremony after your long hard journey.

I never received an invitation letter from HO, just the approval via email when I requested an update, so I think you are right.
