Re: house survey for accomodation

There is no formal requirement for the housing survey. We submitted a letter from my parents (who own the house), stating that we could live there, along with their passport details and a downloaded copy of the land registry information for the property and got the visa with no issues

Re: Spouse Visa- Could I apply by myself?

You can do it yourself, there is no real need for you to employ an agency to do it for you. You will still need to get all the documentation and provide it to an agency. Look through the advice here on the boards (especially the pinned topics at the top), and on the ukba website and get familiar wit...

Family settlement- previous private medical practitioner cos

Silly question, we're applying for my spouse's settlement visa and cannot find anything in the guidance notes with regard to question on previous medical treatment and whether it was paid for. My spouse saw a private doctor in the UK, and had an ultrasound done at a BUPA clinic, all of which was pai...

I've had the same discussion with HSBC who refuse to stamp/certify online printouts as they 'don't know what they will be used for'.

Re: Polygamy!!!

I really hope this is some sort of joke. In short though, no a second husband or wife (polyandry/polygamy) would not be recognised in the UK if you are domiciled in the UK. Did both parties have the personal capacity under the law of his / her domicile to enter into the marriage? Precisely what pers...

1. What level of English is required to get a UK spouse Visa? Level A1 is required, under the old rules you have until: 05/04/15 to take a test from this list https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/405631/selt_transitional.pdf 05/11/15 to apply for a settlement vi...

Settlement and Leave to remain Financial requirements: same?

I was just browsing other topics and came across the following comment http://www.immigrationboards.com/general-uk-immigration-forum/any-foreseeable-issues-t175098.html You'd need to be able to meet the same financial condition at the first 2.5 year visa renewal. I believe you can use the savings on...

Re: KET - English Language Test timeline

My partner sat the test on the 11/10/14, and we have been informed that the results will be available by the 21/11, with the earliest possible date being the 10/11 (approx 1 month), so I would plan for a bit longer than 2 weeks to be on the safe side.

2. What you need is a declaration of the source of those funds from yourself. However, it may be wise to provide a confirming declaration if the savings were gifted to you. Thanks to both of you, the funds are my own, and are a combination of older savings accounts, and more recent savings from emp...

Financial requirement - Category D, Cash Savings

We’re planning to return to the UK next year, and will be applying for my spouse’s visa under the cash savings route for the financial requirement, and have some questions. I have consolidated savings into one account, held with HSBC in the UK. 1. Given the difficulty of receiving post where we curr...

For visa requirements there are no specific insurers. In terms of the most reliable one on the Indian market, thats' difficult to say. I think there are two separate issues here; 1-How you complete the tax return 2- The income which you declare for your wife's sponsorship. 1: Did you actually earn GBP 17448 through self employment in FY13/14? If so do you have the documentation to prove it? Additionally bear in mind that you should...

From what you say you would meet the criteria, Overtime, commission-based pay and bonuses (which can include tips and gratuities paid via a tronc scheme registered with HMRC) will be counted as income from employment where they have been received in the 6 or 12 months prior to the date of applicatio...

The issue will be that you won't have the exit stamp/record from the visitors' visa, nor the entry stamp/record from the ILR on record, which will create problems.
