Re: Applying MN1 from UK and giving biometrics in India

Thanks for the reply @cr001, Could you please clarify on these below thoughts: I can apply MN1 from India, give biometrics in India and then get the British passport from India. I can still provide UK referees for MN1 application in India? I've heard there is no priority application for British pass...

So you mean to say when you applied for cos in past the job was not in shortage / you were not issued shortage occupation. But right now you were granted ilr for a job which is moved to shortage. That's nice and might be relief for many. Thanks for the update.
Yes. That is correct.

Re: ILR -Requirements

As an update, I've applied for ILR anyway. It was bit of a risk. I've been successful. Due to get BRP soon. It doesn't matter it was old or new COS. The job has to be in Shortage Occupants List in the last 6 years. There's a reason there are shortage of workers for the job, the gov doesn't want to m...

Re: Help please! Changing SOC code to shortage list (TIER 2 )

My Update: I've applied for ILR anyway. It was bit of a risk. But I was 90% sure I will get it. But 10% was bothering and haunting me. I posted the query regarding that on fb ILR group admin - Kazi Ullah bhai who confirmed that I am eligible. He was the real deal. He gave me confidence to make the ...

Re: Help please! Changing SOC code to shortage list (TIER 2 )

I’ve also double checked with another lawyer who stated this... “I have just double checked the guidance and it appears that there is a change. If your job is on shortage occupation list you will be exempt - Page 64 and 65! - Tier 2 Policy Guidance. You can rely on this.” Hence we are exempt and ELI...

Re: Help please! Changing SOC code to shortage list (TIER 2 )

CR001, your advice on this matter was WRONG! I have clearly copied the text from the rules above and please do read them so you can advise people correctly. There is no such thing as shortage or non-shortage occupation COS. You have confused me and other people. The rules are simple and clear that ...

Does that mean I can apply for ILR already?
I've been in tier 2 since 2014 for 5.5 years getting 31k and was thinking I need to switch sponsor to be eligible for ILR.

Please help. Many thanks and this would mean a lot.

Re: Applying Tier 2 Visa in the 28 days Grace Period

Hi Aditi That was really unfortunate to hear. Is the employer willing to assign one more rest.certificate of sponsorship? I think they will have to do the RLMT / advert again. Your status is still not an overstayer since you have made an in-time application. But confirm with others as I am not sure ...

Re: Applying Tier 2 Visa in the 28 days Grace Period

In my case, Homeoffice posted a letter asking to assign the COS to my sponsor.
My sponsor then wrote back to them the COS details. To be on Safer side, I also sent that COS pages of the tier 2 application after getting the details from my sponsor.

Re: Applying Tier 2 Visa in the 28 days Grace Period

1. Can I apply Tier2 extension application within 28 days after expiry of my visa if I get a new offer and my prospective company assign a uCoS to me? And would it be considered a 'normal application'? If you have a valid u.COS and if you apply during 28 days. It will be considered as a normal appl...
