Re: PR Card / Certificate REALLY needed ??

Then it's definitely worth applying for PR first.

Once you get your PR you are not required to prove Treaty rights again when applying for naturalisation.

Re: PR Card / Certificate REALLY needed ??

Less risk. If your PR application fails then you only lose £65 as with naturalisation it's £1005. Also, naturalisation applications with PR processed much quicker. (Mine took just 16 days)

Bear in mind though you can only apply for naturalisation after you've held your PR certificate for 12 months.

It's nice but unnecessary.

The fact that he's worked in the US for 12 years is completely irrelevant.

And they will never email you asking for additional information - they will write to you.

Being employed at the time of the application is not a requirement so you should be okay anyway.

1. You can provide invoices and bank statements as proof you're providing services and getting paid for it.

2. Probably not if you're a sole trader but if you're going to become a limited company then - yes.

Re: EEA citizen just need to be present for 5 years or to wo

Q5: I'm a EEA national/family member of EEA national. When can I apply for naturalisation? Under EEA regulations, Permanent Residence status is obtained automatically after 5 years of exercising treaty rights. You need to hold PR status for 1 year to be eligible for naturalisation (unless you are ma...

Best to delay your application and not argue with HO which can result in lost £1005 application fee.

Referee endorsements valid for up to 6 months so you should be okay.

Re: Citizenship and expiring current passport delima

You have to have had your PR for at least 12 months which means you can only apply on or after 15 September and my understanding is that you can't apply with an expired passport (I might be wrong on this one).

Re: Any help appreciated

Self assessment is something that self-employed people do once a year to declare how much they've earned in the last financial year so HMRC can work out how much tax they owe and bill them. If you've worked through an agency and you're on their payroll then it's most likely you're paying tax through...

Did you register with WRS (Worker Registration Scheme) when you started working and still have the certificate? If not then your clock started in April 2011 when WRS was abolished. Which means you can only apply for Naturalisation in April 2017. What are you talking about? OP is Italian so not from...
