Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

I was shouting indeed. It was the shouting of happiness. Hope I didn't wake anyone up, but even if I did, it is allowed in such cases. P.S. Honestly though, I can't believe you actually wrote that. How do you know my keyboard didn't break and the CAPS lock key could have stuck or perhaps I am visua...

Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

Well... I don't know about the degree of softness of my case worker's mind, but what I know is that my case was far from standard and involved much consideration and piles of documents and investigation throughout my journey. I have been living in the UK for 15 years and whilst being illegal for som...

Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

Hello, all! I understand that decision on this matter is discretionary and ,in some cases, I heard on a number of occasions, people don't get a straightforward refusal, but rather get asked to explain how they supported themselves during the time when they remained illegal. Let's say one can demonst...

Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

Hi All! Amber, I was hoping to hear your opinion on this topic I created today. http://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/potential-naturalisation-refusal-for-overstayers-t184343.html The dates I mentioned in the above topic for example only. My close friend has the following situation: 1...

Potential Naturalisation Refusal for Overstayers

Hello everyone! It has been brought to my attention that there are many naturalisation applications are being refused on the basis of previous overstay/s in the 10-year period prior to applying. In other words, if you came to the UK on a visitor/tourist visa and decided to stay illegally in, for exa...

Re: CAN YOU TRAVEL WITHOUT EEA4 APPLICATION?

I am not sure 100% but I believe that a traveller must be able to present a valid travel document and a visa that is not expired.

The problem will be when you return to the UK and I am not too sure what exactly will happen.

Re: Non EU rights after obtaining his PR

Hi! If you can provide evidence that you were exercising Treaty Rights on the date of your marriage (i.e. wage slips in this case) then you calculate residency of your husband from the date of marriage not from the date of issue of his RC. I suggest you fill out EEA3 form and include your husband in...

Re: CAN YOU TRAVEL WITHOUT EEA4 APPLICATION?

Hi! Non-EU don't obtain PR status automatically. They need to apply using EEA4 form. Your husband can travel within Schengen area without a visa if he is travelling with you and you are in possession of your EU passport and I would also advise to have your marriage certificate just in case. If your ...

Re: RRR/PR Madness

Hi Nyamebeye! As you are applying on the basis of ROR then you are stating in what capacity you claim to remain in the UK, such as worker, student, self-sufficient person and etc. So section 6 is not required to be filled out but you need to provide evidence of your ex-partner exercising Treaty Righ...

Re: RRR/PR Madness

Hi again! I sent all the documents by post. It is the only way to do it. Nobody accepts emailed documents at UKBA when you submit an application form. Case worker's name is written on the correspondence that you receive from the UKBA at the bottom of the page. You can count from the date of marriage...

Re: RRR/PR Madness

Hi! Okay. In order to contact your case worker you have got to know their name and then you can send them an email using this format: name.surname@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk Otherwise you can call this number: 0300 123 2253 and choose the appropriate option. You will not be put through to a case worker u...

Re: RRR/PR Madness

Update! I contacted my case worker directly and this kind lady told me that she had arranged for a new correct (Permanent Residence for 10 years) residence card to be issued and placed into my passport and the old one to be destroyed. Sometimes Home Office provides fast and reliable service. I'm imp...

RRR/PR Madness

Hi All! This week I have had a crazy experience with Home Office, a positive one though. I retained ny rights of residency after divorce from an EEA national using EEA2 form. In June 2014 I was issued with a residence card for another 5 years. After a few months of communication with my ex-wife she ...

Re: Retained Right of Residency CONFUSION....

Hi! The documents I submitted, as follows: 1. My current passport. 2. Photocopy of my ex-wife's passport, it is not necessary but makes it easier for UKBA. 3. My original residence card issued for 5 years. 4. Utility bills in two names covering a couple of years time, but one year for RRR is suffici...

Re: Retained Right of Residency CONFUSION....

Thank you for your reply Obie!

I personally know 2-3 people who received their PR using EEA2.

I am not sure how I could contact the person who issued my RC.

Can anyone advise please?

Thank you!

Re: Retained Right of Residency CONFUSION....

I absolutely agree! I only received one cover letter. I heard of similar situations when people had to contact UKBA and request another letter confirming that they have ROR and had it sent with apologies from UKBA. I really would like to contact my case worker directly and the situation to her befor...

Re: Retained Right of Residency CONFUSION....

I received just one covering letter, as follows: I am returning your document which features an endorsement confirming your status. At present your only claim to remain in the UK is as the family member of a EEA national who is exercising Treaty rights here. If your family member decides to leave th...

Re: Retained Right of Residency CONFUSION....

Thank you for your reply! The only concern I have is that during our marriage I worked for approximately 1.5 years and all other time I was not officially employed. But I understand that whilst married, non-EU person is a dependant and is not required to work as long as the EU citizen exercises Trea...

Re: EEA2 ROR processing time

Thank you for your reply! During our marriage I only worked for 1.5 years. All other time I did not work officially.
