Re: British Citizenship and CSI requirements

Hello Expert, I am just about to apply for EU settled status before applying for Naturalization and I have a question in regards to CSI requirements please. My spouse is British (used to be an EU citizen) and I hold an EU family member card (PR). What is the best way to avoid issues with CSI requir...

Re: Spouse of a British Citizen applying for EU settlement with PR card

We don't know how timings will pan out of course - you could apply for both BC and Settled (free!) now. Free and quick processing times - what could be better than that?! :D These are all types of ILR which is required for naturalisation. Settled application will not interfere with the other applic...

Re: Spouse of a British Citizen applying for EU settlement with PR card

Processing time can take anywhere between one month and six months, some applicants wait even longer. @alterhase58, thank you so much. Would you say I should apply for BC now and if I won't get it by the beginning of June, I then apply for settlement status before the deadline, is that even possibl...

Re: Spouse of a British Citizen applying for EU settlement with PR card

You can apply for naturalisation with your PR, you don't need to have Settled for that - though you can still apply for it, just in case. Thank you alterhase58, I got completely confused with everything  Do you mean "just in case" if BC application will take over 6 months? How realistic is it...

Spouse of a British Citizen applying for EU settlement with PR card

Hello everyone, Just wanted to double check if my thinking is correct. Here is my situation: • 2011 - non EU - married to EU citizen (in July) • 2011 - granted EEA Family member visa (in October, overstayed prior that) • 2013 - my spouse became British • 2017 - got my Permanent Residence (PR) card (...

Re: Director of a Limited Company - Tax Documents

I selected the option which says 'limited company director'. That's exactly what my thoughts were. Latest tax return required only for self-employed applicants. But after reading the forum I've found few posts where "directors" (who did take money out from the company) did need to submit SA as well...

Re: Director of a Limited Company - Tax Documents

I've just spoken to my NCS office and explained them the situation. They told me to bring letter confirming registration date of the company and nothing else.

Can someone please confirm if that normally would be enough for the HO or not?

Director of a Limited Company - Tax Documents

Hello experts, I have an appointment with NCS to apply for naturalization based on marriage to BC (5+ years). I am quite confused about documents I need to provide in regards to my employment. I am director (not self employed) of a limited company which is just over a year old. The company didn't ma...

Re: Naturalisation - date of the application - must send tod

PR is for those on the EEA/EU route. ILR is for those on the UK immigration route Thank you for clarification. My spouce is BC since 2013 and I got PR card via McCarthy case. This is from last year. Thank you  If you apply through NCS at the council on 5th April, then that is your application...

Re: Naturalisation - date of the application - must send tod

When you say PR, do you mean ILR??? I meant Permanent Residence card, which used to be called ILR I think. There has been no indication as yet of when/if fees are going up. Looks like the fees are going up on 18th of March. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fees-for-citizenship-application...

Re: Naturalisation - date of the application - must send tod

Thanks for the help. Why not just apply in the beginning of April. I am trying to avoid new fees. Another thing is, it will be a new financial year and I have to deal with my taxes as I am "self employed", so it will delay everything even more I think. You can apply on the basis of 5 years, but HO m...

Re: Naturalisation – spouse of a British citizen

The document explains how it works. Balance of probabilities. Refer to that. noajthan , thank you. After sleeping on it, I think I'm going to try my luck and apply now. Do you know if I should include any "explanation letter" with my application? To be honest, this is very frustrating, we all know ...

Re: Naturalisation – spouse of a British citizen

Overstayers do face a ban; good character is assessed based on various factors and a balance of probabilities is weighed up. All overstayers? Or it is matter of luck/case worker's mood? What if I include a letter with explanation about that particular period when i'd been waiting for my COA? I wasn...
