Re: Set(O)/Tier2(G) definition of application date (related to payslips date)

Just in case somebody sees my post in future and wonders what the answers to my questions are. We ended up signing both Part 1 (myself) and Part 2 (my partner) and adding a clarification letter to the CW, explaining that although I answered "No" to the above mentioned question on the form, we still ...

Set(O)/Tier2(G) definition of application date (related to payslips date)

Dear all, The payslip must be the most recent one, prior to the application date. Do I understand it correctly that it is the Online Application date, not the document submission date? Basically, I applied online/paid fees at the end of March, while my appointment at UKVCAS will be in early April. D...

Re: Set(O) : Consent form for dependant and related questions

By further reading this forum I realised that my question 3 is wrong, so please ignore it. However, I am especially worried about the second part of the consent form that my partner should sign (about this this forum seems to be quite clear) - is it bad that I have answered "No" to related question ...

Re: ILR Consent Form

Do you think it is a problem if I answered both questions "No", even though me and my partner (dependant on an application) have letters for Council Tax on our joint names (which I provide as evidence of co-habilitation)? I realised only after submission (by reading this forum) that in this case she...

Set(O) : Consent form for dependant and related questions

Dear all, I have recently submitted an online application for the Tier 2 route ILR for myself and my partner and am currently scanning documents to submit to UKVCAS web page prior to appointment. I have three questions regarding the consent form. 1. In my application, I have answered "No" to the two...

Additional police registration of changing employment after having registered the new BRP?

Dear all, Sorry for the following lengthy explanation. I have recently received a new BRP due to extending my visa And changing employer. The new employment is in the different city to where I lived (and worked) previously. When I received my new BRP while still living at the old address (and still ...

BRP via post (in-country application) - DX?

Hi all, Just wanted to ask of your in-country experience of getting BRP after the decision is made (I received my previous BRP two years ago but can't remember any details). Do I understand it correctly that it is done via DX always? How quickly after you get the decision (and passports) do you get ...

Re: Tier 2 Visa - 8 Weeks? When do I start counting?

Thanks for the update! Really sorry to hear you had a payment problem and have a delay! I have no idea how long it will take them now to make a decision! In my case, the last working day of the 8-week period is tomorrow, and I so far had no news from them (and status is Awaiting Decision). I read th...

Re: Tier 2 Visa - 8 Weeks? When do I start counting?

Hi,

Did you get a decision by now, may I ask? My time is also coming to the full 8 weeks, haven't heard from them... I guess if it is not decided by the end of 8 weeks we are supposed to contact a local MP? Lots of people seem to have delays this summer...

Best,

Re: Extending a contract under the same Tier 2 (General) vis

No, your contract of employment is a separate issue. But then if the contract ends and not prolonged, even if the visa is still on, employer is supposed to let UKVI know and they can lift the visa, right? I do however hope that you are not in fact 'contracting' for a third party or umbrella company...

Extending a contract under the same Tier 2 (General) visa

Hi all, If my current employer has previously issued me a CoS for a longer period than my contract actually covers, and accordingly I got a visa for that (longer) period, and now my employer may prolong my contract within the bounds of this period, I don't need to re-apply for the visa, right? Many ...

Hello, I currently have the same issue, my passport & BRP returned, but the police registration certificate hasn't. I have sent them by post requesting it but got no reply. What can I do? Visa extended -> need to register with police?

Hi all,

just got an extension to my Tier 2 visa due to the change of employer. Do I need to register with the police? The letter was not very specific about that, in my opinion.

Thanks!

Tier 2 Ext-n: Passport returned, Police reg. certificate not

Is it always like that, and I just have to go for a new certificate now to police ...

Re: Tier 2 (G): leave to remain vs leave to enter - terminol

OK, I double checked - if one chooses an option "I have another visa type" and enters manually "Tier 2 (General)", the system alarms that you can't use online form for this kind of visa. So the only option is to choose the "Tier 2 (General) leave to remain", which I did.

Re: Tier 2 (G): leave to remain vs leave to enter - terminol

Simply,"Leave to enter" is granted to applicants under the Immigration rules from outside the UK, by an ECO (Entry Clearance Officer) issuing an entry clearance or by an IO (Immigration Officer) at a port of entry. "Leave to remain" is granted to applicants inside the UK. Thank you! Yes, I understa...

Thank you! So they use "leave to remain" just as a general synonim to "visa", and it doesn't matter whether it was received from outside or inside of UK?
