Question on the ILR Application - Help

Hi there, I need some help with interpreting a question on the online application for the ILR (based on 5 year continuous residence on Tier 2). It asks: "Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth?" Is the question asking me to list every single time I have...

Re: Timing of Tier 2 Extension

You can't apply for an extension until 5 September 2019 (within 3 months of your expiring date), so there is no point to issue you a CoS now. When you apply for extension you will get an extension until 6 November 2020 Hi, thank you for the guidance! Is there any link you can provide (e.g. Immigrat...

Timing of Tier 2 Extension

Hi everyone, I'm hoping this is not too complex, but I was wondering what the position of Immigration Rules are in relation to timing of an extension application? My current Tier 2 Gen (BRP) expires 5 December 2019. My 6th year in the UK will be 6 November 2020. Therefore, I intend to apply for my I...

Nope, no UCOS yet.

Hopefully it progresses well. Good luck to you!

Re: Time required for increase unrestricted CoS allocation

I am in a similar situation. My prospective new employer, I believe, applied to have their unrestricted CoS allocation increase in or around 8 September 2016. They asked the following details from me: ·         date of birth ·         nationality ·         current immigration status ·         curren...

Re: Reducing working hours - Tier 2 (General)

Hi there, really sorry to bump an old thread: I searched the forum and found this. Didn't want to create a new thread just for a similar question. What if there is no reduction in pay but a temporary reduction of work hours? I work 40 hours a week but planning to reduce to 32 hours per week. My pay ...

Re: Completion of Contract

You can choose to leave or find another Tier 2 General sponsor and remain in the UK. Curtailment letters can take up to a couple of months to be issued and the curtailment period in the letter is 60 days. Thank you so much for the clarification and information. This gives me a good idea as to how t...

Re: Completion of Contract

Your BRP card is your visa. If your work/training or whatever it is finishes on 30th June and your employer is not offering to sponsor you further, they will inform HO once you have finished on 30th June. However long HO takes to send you a curtailment letter and date by which you must leave the UK...

Re: Completion of Contract

Thank you for the response. My BRP expiry date does not match my contractual expiry date. I apologise if I have mislead you. I have a biometric residence permit (which I understand is different from a visa) which is valid until November 2017 even though my contract expires 30 June 2016. When I appli...

Completion of Contract

Hi everyone, I received a three year Tier 2 visa in November 2014 (valid until November 2017). This was for the purpose of my training contract which expires on 30 June 2016. As I am approaching the completion of my contract, I expect my employer to notify the Home Office that my contract is complet...

Re: Working from home on Tier 2 Visa

Ok. Thank you for that. What I was really concerned by is that is they continue to only use the virtual office as their organisation address, the UKBA/HOme Office won't be happy. Because if they want to visit my employer and they visit the virtual office, then there will be no one there (apart from ...

Working from home on Tier 2 Visa

Hi everyone, I am in a peculiar spot and wanted to make sure all the correct steps have been taken by my employer. My employer is currently changing offices and has appointed a 'virtual office' as a 'stop-gap', before any physical change in address. During this time, they have asked me to work from ...

Changes in Employer's Status

Hi there, This is a rather complex situation. I am currently in the United Kingdom on a Tier 2 General Visa expring in 2017. My employe is a sole trader. However, I have recently been overhearing that my employer wishes to 'sell their business' to another firm. I have been speaking with them candidl...

Tier 4 to Tier 2 Conversion using Legal Practice Course

Hey everyone, I was reading through the guidance on https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/switch-to-this-visa regarding Tier 2 visas. I am a recent Legal Practice Course graduate (i.e. the last step in legal education before becoming a solicitor). My Tier 4 Visa was sponsored by the University of Law. T...
