Re: Visit Visa Fee & £85 ?

Hi thanks

No they have been here before.
They already had 5 years visa. Now we are applying for 10 year long term.
And I am aware of the maximum stay limit (6 months).

Was just wondering, what that £85 was.
So we only need to pay 10 year fee not plus the £85 ?

Visit Visa Fee & £85 ?

Hi Hope this is the right place to post. I am about to submit my parents application and pay the fee online. The agent back home says I don't need to pay £85 as that is only for 6 months. I should pay the fee for 10 year which is £737. But on the Home Office site, it states you must pay £85 to apply...

Re: Mother multiple 10 year visa + GP registration

Thank you all for your help, advise, suggestions. Much appreciated. I have requested an invoice from the GP. We will pay it and attach the receipt with the application. Will that be okay ? Or do i need to do something else. Btw total was £463, lady said she will need to speak with manager and see if...

Re: Staying for 5 months on family visitor visa

The Guardian newspaper previously reported that the Home Office was given access to the NHS records of more than 6,900 people between 2010 and 2013. The leaflet in the link I posted was dated August 2014, but sharing of information was obviously in place before then. Not receiving a leaflet doesn't...

Re: Staying for 5 months on family visitor visa

Only the initial treatment in Accident & Emergency is free (A&E). If the patient requires an overnight stay (or more) charges apply. So you want to know how the Home Office (UKVI) check whether treatment has been received? By information sharing with the NHS. All Government departments, HMRC, UKVI,...

Re: Staying for 5 months on family visitor visa

Also I read anybody is entitlement to A&E for free. They can also see GP but then pay.
What if you were seen in A&E. How do you prove that you didnt have to pay, They don't charge you there.

Re: Staying for 5 months on family visitor visa

@DoubleV - HO can check the systems in the UK if they wish to. If you say 'no' to the medical care question and they check and confirm the applicant has used it, it is deception. If you say 'yes' and don't have any evidence you have paid for the service, it is using a service you are not entitled t...

Re: Staying for 5 months on family visitor visa

Just a point for you to remember, your father is not entitled to the free NHS services, GP or medication etc. Make sure if he does see your GP and gets medication, that you pay private patient rates for these services as this could have an impact on future applications if not paid for. How will thi...

Re: Mother multiple 10 year visa + GP registration

long term visit visas for 2, 5 or 10 years are possible under the new post 24 April rules, too. Read the guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/423617/visitor_guidance_final_v1_0_ext.pdf Thanks These new rules are so confusing to understand. What exactly...

Re: Mother multiple 10 year visa + GP registration

Yes, it does appear that you are still able to apply for visit visas for the same validity periods as before. So based on what you had in mind, there are no changes. A genuine mistake in interpretation of the appendix, before complete details were published. The main difference appears to be the co...

Re: Mother multiple 10 year visa + GP registration

Just read the whole new document.

It looks like people can still apply for 5year, 10 year visit visa. (they can only stay max of 6 months).

Which has been same.
So who here said they are cancelling this. :P

Re: Mother multiple 10 year visa + GP registration

So the Appendix V states the maximum length of stay for a visit visa holder is 6 months. Which has always been the same. So we can apply for 10 years. My mother applied for 6 months family visit visa in 2005 then for 1 year in 2007, then 2 years in 2008, then for 5 years in 2010 which expired this y...

Re: Mother multiple 10 year visa + GP registration

I think there is a confusion. My mother did not live here for 5 years. She was granted 5 years multiple visa. And she used to come and visit me during that period. She used to stay with me for 6 months which is what is allowed. Then she went back to home country spent few months and then come back ...

My mother had 5 years of multiple visa which expired this January. She used to live with me here in the UK for 6 months and then she would spent 1 week back home and come back to UK. She did this for whole 5 years. This is will be a challenge for your mothers visa as she has effectively used a visi...

Re: NHS and GP registration for my mother

She is not entitled to free GP service on a visitor visa and you would have to register her as a private patient and pay the fees for drs, nurses and medication. Rehistration with a GP is free, the service is not. A&E is free only for emergencies at initial point of care, further charges would be a...
