Re: GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE IN NORTHERN IRELAND

I have a question, so what happens to those that have previously renounced their British citizenship in order to take the EEA route? Is their renounciation now void? And effectively remain British citizens if they choose to? Or would they have to reapply to the home office to void the renounciation?

Re: Proof of 5 continuous years exercising Treaty Rights - E

That's brilliant we live in belfast too. At least it's a good thing that there are more options to take when the time comes. Goodluck to you and your spouse on the eea2 application. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long since you already have the eea1. :D

Re: Proof of 5 continuous years exercising Treaty Rights - E

@chaoclive that's interesting. But a couple of questions, she didn't apply for eea1 in the first place does that mean she can't apply for eea3 later on? Secondly we live in NI and after 3 years of marriage I think I would be eligible for irish citizenship, if I get that do I still need to apply for ...

Hi jambo, can you kindly explain further why you said for an irish it doesn't bring any value applying for eea3?

Re: Renunciation for dual citizens works

Good old Mr Kelly, his FOI responses are priceless! Is he a solicitor?and if so where is he based? I always go to see what's new with him on the website. It's good when people ask the right questions and make the response available for the benefit of all. I would have taken this same option a year ...

Re: Renunciation for dual citizens works

I reckon it might be that because we had not succeeded in our earlier application and appeal a reference was made to link the applications. my wife earns more than the required 18,600pa ...
