Re: Check supporting documents and a few questions

1a. Yes 1b. No 2a. You only need your passports, nothing else! 2b. See 2a above. 3. Correct 4. Are these uk degrees? 5. Yes they must be. Thanks CR001. So for showing 5 years of living in the UK, our Indian passports are enough? Would they look at the stamps from departures from UK and arrival back...

Re: Answer to "Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?"

Provide as much detail as you can - worth looking back in emails to find all the information you have. If you remember you applied but can't source details you can do a SAR with UKVI for extra peace of mind or explain in a cover letter that you don't remember details of some applications. Thank you...

Re: Date of first entry in UK - first entry ever or qualifying period

Thank you. Could someone who was in a similar situation share their experience please? Cheers Entry date isn't really an issue - haven't seen anyone reporting it. Thanks, its not the date question which bothers me but the questions around it like (1) Where did I enter UK when I was already here. (2...

Date on which qualifying period is based on.
Thank you, but then how should I answer the question "Where did you first arrive in the UK?" - because I was already in the UK, just relocated to a new city to start my job on T2 visa.

Date of first entry in UK - first entry ever or qualifying period

Hi everyone, First of all thanks for the great help this forum has been over the years through my immigration journey in UK. I am filling now the Citizenship Application and again in need of some help. Quick intro to my immigration history - I first entered the UK in Oct-2010 to start my PhD on T4 v...

Answer to "Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?"

Hi everyone, Am in the process of applying for UK citizenship after getting my ILR in Jan2021. Re: Identity check rejected by HMPO - referee not eligible

From what I remember this list is for guidance and not exhaustive, like it says on the page examples of recognised professions. I am myself a scientist in a private company, but since I am not British, I have never verified anyone's identity for citizenship or passport application. But my fellow co...

Re: Identity check rejected by HMPO - referee not eligible

Just to close this thread in case others come looking answers for a similar question. I called HMPO and was told that there is some sort of a bloody stupid computer algorithm that rejects doctors automatically. They suggested to forward my request to HMPO for manual handling. I immediately shot an e...

Re: Identity check rejected by HMPO - referee not eligible

Is it possible to contact back, i.e. contact HMPO and explain that the referee is our family friend and knows us very well?

If I restrict to the list of professions in recognised professions list, and consider all the other requirement, there will not be any one left.

Re: Identity check rejected by HMPO - referee not eligible

Hi again, I was mistaken. First of all i used a friend, who knows me and the child very well. I did not use a colleague. This friend is a scientist but also a fully qualified doctor too. So that could have been the issue. Btw, for passport application this is the requirement as stated by HMPO "Ask s...

Identity check rejected by HMPO - referee not eligible

Hi everyone, I had applied for my daughters first UK passport. Today HMPO got back with "Your passport application is on hold. This is because the person you chose to confirm your identity does not meet the criteria." I have never faced this before and thought this was simple. The person, our family...

One more question. How do HMPO return the documents? Should I send a special deliver envelope when I send them the documents?
Cheers

Re: Documents required for child's first passport - born to parents with ILR

Oh geez, would not have known that, thank you very much everyone :)

Seems my older child, who was born Indian and the naturalised to British via ILR has more definitive documentation. But that definiteness did cost a lot more money.

Re: Documents required for child's first passport - born to parents with ILR

Also note that whichever ILR BRP you use, should be kept for life. Not to be returned to the HO if you decide to naturalise. That's your child's claim to British Citizenship. Thanks, will keep it. I am a hoarder when it comes to documents. But once the child gets her British Passport then would thi...

Documents required for child's first passport - born to parents with ILR

Hi everyone, We received our ILR in Jan 2021. Last year (i.e. 2022) in Aug we were blessed with our second child. Our first child already has British passport, he was born when we were still on Tier 2, so was naturalised to British after our ILR. I am in the process of applying our second child's fi...

Re: Automatic citizenship or registration - child born in UK to parents with ILR

A child born within the UK to parents who have ILR are automatically British. The solicitor weblink and quote you have posted is incorrect. Quick, precise and concise, thanks CR001. Automatic citizenship or registration - child born in UK to parents with ILR

Dear all, A bit of confusion here. If a child born is born in the UK and parents have ILR then does the child automatically become British and do we have to apply for a certificate or document before applying for her passport? Or do we have to register the child as a British citizen and if yes which...
