Passport expiring soon but plan to apply BC

Dear All, I tried to search if this question was asked already before but I didn't find any. My passport is expiring in March 2020 but I plan to apply for my British Citizenship in January 2020. Will that be ok? I have no plans of travelling anywhere during my BC application. Also, is it possible th...

Re: MN1 online form Referee

Professional referee can be any nationality. Must the referee be living in the UK? or outside the UK is fine? The other referee must be British. For members who will be looking for the answer to above question. https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/referee-living-outside-the-uk-but-...

Re: How much money are you planning to spend on your visit to the UK?

I did the same thing. I put I think $10. I had a cover letter explaining my mother's purpose of visit and that she has no income because she is a housewife. And a Letter of Sponsorship stating that I am sponsoring my mother financially, accommodation, flights, food, etc. I showed 3 months of bank st...

Re: URGENT - Family Visit Visa (Mother coming to visit)

Hello, I have ILR, invited my mother to come here in the UK 3 times already, have been successful without her showing any financial statements. I always mentioned in my cover letter that my mother has been a housewife, no income, that I am sponsoring her financially. I showed my bank statements, pay...

Re: Referee living outside the UK but Professional

Did I post my query in the wrong section? Sorry moderators. Because I am still waiting for someone who knows to answer my question. Or maybe because it's the weekend. I searched if I could find a similar question as mine but did not. I know that one referee could be from different nationality. But w...

Referee living outside the UK but Professional

Hello guys, I read from UKLGIG forum that one of the referees for British citizenship could be a professional from any nationality AND DOES NOT HAVE TO RESIDE IN THE UK. Is this true? Also, I found this Referee form online. Is this the form I will need to give to my referees to sign? I have not fini...

Re: Working 30 hrs/week to look after sick mother. What help (benefits) can I claim?

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, lesson learned. Always have travel health insurance.

I have to reduce working hours (as my sister has to do as well), so mom will not be left alone at home during recovery. She can't travel back to the U.S. in the next 8 weeks.

Appreciate your reply.

Working 30 hrs/week to look after sick mother. What help (benefits) can I claim?

Hello everyone! I have ILR since 2015, wanting to apply British Citizenship but situation has changed recently, so savings has to go to unplanned expenses. My mother had a mild stroke last week. She has family visitor visa, she is a Permanent Resident of U.S.A. (greencard holder). She came here to v...

British Citizenship Referees

Hello! Kindly please correct me here with what I understand about British Citizenship referees. Referee 1: Must be British and professional or over 25 y.o. Referee 2: Must be a professional from ANY NATIONALITIES. Does this include non-EU nationalities like Asians who have ILRs? Can the referee be a...

Will ILR holders be affected by Brexit?

Hello everyone, I am not sure if this question has been asked already. Because of the Brexit, will ILR holders be affected in terms of applying for British Citizenship? Do we need to hurry and apply before Brexit finally completes in March 2019? Also, since we are exiting from EU, is one of the char...

ILR and BC Home Office CrossChecking

Hello!!! If HO has already checked your 5 or 10-year history , what else does HO need to check when you apply for Naturalisation? Is it just the last 12 months you were free from immigration time restrictions? If yes, so why is HO taking too long to review documents for BC? If not, what else do they...

Re: British Citizenship Application Questions

Thank you very much Ohara for very quick reply! Very much appreciated! So what if I make use of NCS, since they will make certified copies of docs, does that mean I can still travel outside of the UK (unless I retain my BRP)? If yes, will that absence count to what I already have? Last question, how...

British Citizenship Application Questions

Hello!! I have some specific questions I can't find from here. I was granted ILR on the basis of 10-year route on 27 July, 2015. It only took 10 weeks. No issues. My questions are: 1. When is the earliest date I can apply for British Citizenship? Is 01 Aug 2016 alright? I was absent from the UK for ...

ILR 10yr route > Copies of Immigration Stamps

Hi there! Just a quick question. It was mentioned in the SET(LR) guidance note #9 Documents.. "...In addition you should provide photocopies of each of these documents including any pages of your passport(s) that contain personal details, visas or immigration stamps ( foreign or UK)." Does it mean I...

Re: SET(LR) Best Method of Payment

I am applying on the basis of long residence. My only option is to send application by post. Am I right? Even so, there is an additional fee for premium.

So what would be the best payment form? thank you.

College is suspended but asking to pay full fees

Hello!!

My friend's college just got suspended. He has outstanding balance on his fees. His course will finish in June. College said he needs to pay the remaining fees now. But does the college still has the right to ask when they are already suspended and course is not finished yet?

Thank you!!
