Re: Concerns about Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

On the face of it based on what you explained your partner didn't need CSI, as she was always employed, and two months unemployment won't make a difference. CSI was required for EU citizens exercising treaty rights as "students" or "self-sufficient". There were specific requirements as to what "sel...

Concerns about Comprehensive Sickness Insurance

Hello, I wonder if someone can help with this. We're both quite confused and worried about this. My partner is French and she's currently doing her AN and very concerned about her never having had a Comprehensive Sickness Insurance. In the form, there's a section they talk about this. Asking the app...

Getting worried with waiting times

Okay, hear me out here.. I submitted the AN online on 22/01/2019 and did my biometrics in London on 26/01/2019, and ever since then, I haven't heard back about it. I cannot call for or enquire about the progress because it's "under six months", and in the grand scheme of things, this probably hasn't...

Re: Quick questions on referee

I do have a question now... Is being employed a requirement for the application? No it is not. Or does it increase one's chance of success? No, has no effect on success or failure. I've been in full-time employment for the past 5 years but (without going into details) I might be in between the jobs...

Always welcome and I am always happy to help. Post if you have any further questions. I do have a question now... Is being employed a requirement for the application? Re: Quick questions on referee

Dentist is a Dentist as long as they are qualified etc and have known you for at least 3 years. The list does not state 'NHS Dentist' does it?? No, it doesn't. I guess I'm overthinking...just wanna make sure I'm doing everything by the book, you know. Btw, good seeing your reply again...you answere...

Quick questions on referee

Hey Guys (and Girls), The time has come for me to apply for naturalisation and I am super psyched (yes!!!), however I do have a couple of questions regarding the referees. For the professional one, can that be my dentist? I know dentist is on the list but my dentist is private so I'm wondering wheth...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

I appreciate all the replies. That's an extreme and rather pessimistic view (dismissal/homelessness)! 10 year renewal of the BRP is in line with British passport and photo card driving licence renewal and we all seem to manage that without any problem. I'm not so sure. If the OP is young, maintainin...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

Yeah, I hear you both. There are some disadvantages of losing my home country's citizenship though the advantages of naturalisation far outweigh them. Still, I guess I need to give me a little more thought. Thanks for the replies. If you don't want to lose your foreign citizenship, the only option ...

The user posted their question in your thread. I have since moved it from your thread to its own thread.
Oh, I see. Well, thanks for sorting that out.

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

Is it India by any chance? Nope though you're not far off haha. There is no way that you can 'beat the system' if your country does not allow dual nationality. Only British Citizens can get CoE or RoA, so it will be known you are British by choice. Yeah, I hear you both. There are some disadv...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

I'm originally from outside the EEA and not part of Commonwealth either so I'm not sure if I would qualify that. But if yes, will that sticker be on my other passport? Also, do you know exactly what it'd say? Would it say that I'm a citizen, etc? Or would it just say I'm entitled to work, live, etc...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

I understand BRP isn't relevant after naturalisation, yet I may have a scenario where I might have a requirement...(I don't want to get into details) which is why I'm quite curious about this. Need a BRP for what? Stating ILR? ILR is invalidated and cancelled once you become British. You can't get ...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

Cool, I might just go through the NCS then...yeah, I'm aware of that ' must return the BRP after naturalisation ' rule. I'm just wondering whether if they actually enforce that. Can you please tell me a little more about CoE-RoA? I checked the link but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info. I'm ori...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

I think you have interpreted it wrong, it's more a case of needing a BRP if your naturalisation application is refused etc. You certainly don't need a BRP after you naturalise and I don't think it's even possible to get one if you are British :? Ah, I see your point. So, it's intended for in case o...

Re: Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

In the AN, it states that if I need a BRP card after naturalisation, I can apply for one ; Where does it say this :?: AN Form, Page 24 of 31, Section 6.11 - Do you want the Home Office to retain your BRP? Yes - I confirm that I do not require evidence of my immigration status. Should I subsequently...

Questions regarding BRP card and Naturalisation

Hello, I wonder if one of you can help me with this. I understand I've to return my BRP card along with the AN form, or within 5 days after being granted a citizenship (or face £1,000 fine). In the AN, it states that if I need a BRP card after naturalisation, I can apply for one ; Does anybody know ...

Re: Indefinite Leave to Remain & British Citizenship

Hello man, Just came on here to share my experience. First of all, I was granted my ILR today. It hasn't been a very easy journey, my wife and I booked for the premium appointment in sheffield for the 7th of March, 8.00am in the morning. We left our city a day before and lodged in premier inn which...

Re: Bank Statements for ILR

Things have changed for the better since I last posted here. So, I thought I would contribute some updates. First of all, as some you had kindly suggested, the bank statements sent from the bank were in fact "original" so they didn't need to be stamped or certified. Secondly, I did print out some st...

Hey man, How's it going? Hope your preparation is going well. So, we went for the appointment this morning and.......I've got it! I've been granted the ILR. The appointment was at 0810; I deliberately picked the earliest timeslot to ensure things get done as quickly as possible and it worked. We got...
