Re: PR Card questions

Yes, if not registered properly for WRS then time as a worker can only start in May 2011 when WRS ended. Not even Jan 2011 If unemployed in 2012 you have to show you were a jobseeker (registered and looking for work) or self sufficient (with CSI). Can you do that? Your qualifying period may be May ...

Re: Citizenship without WRS

The rules haven't changed. The WRS was abolished in April 2011.
This means if you hadn't registered on WRS scheme, your qualifying period would start in May 2011. One of the PR requirements is 5 years qualifying stay in UK. So the earliest date you can apply for PR is May 2016.

Re: Did anyone with late WRS registration get British Citize

You should be fine. The failure to register with WRS is not a breach of immigration law. This means you could have been fined for this, but not deported. The WRS was only used for statistics, to see how many people from A8 countries had started working in UK since they joined EU. I was granted Briti...

Re: Citizenship application-no sickness insurance

Regarding the UK state pension. If you worked in other EU country, you can still get pension if you don't have enough qualifying years for the UK pension. Below is an example, but I suggest researching it even further than that. Your UK State Pension will be based on your UK National Insurance recor...

You can ask your local Nationality Checking Service (NCS).
Some of them provide an extra service for filling out the application.

How do we apply for the confirmation of permanent residence then is it easier to fill out the forms and apply ? And I'm guessing if she does get refused it will tell us why ? And what's the time scale on this ? I wouldn't say it is easier. You will need to provide approximately the same evidence as...

That should be fine, if she registered for the WRS and stayed with the same employer for 12 months, then she has fulfilled the requirement of WRS.

If your employment started in 2011, then 5 years have not passsed and you don't have PR status. Regarding your ex-wife, based on working history, she might have exercised the Treaty Rights and therefore holding PR status. October 2010 - October 2012 - she was self-employed October 2012 - present - s...

When I went for my NCS appointment, for every single question I had they called HO to confirm. The lady at NCS said she doesn't deal with EEA applications too often. I don't think you have high chances of winning the case against NCS. They don't take responsibility for any application they provide h...

Re: Refused

You made a mistake by putting in the "Date Permanent Residence Issued". (NCS should not have allowed this) It is your job to prove your eligibility for British Citizenship. HO decision is correct, they simply checked that date and the result was obvious - 12 months have not passed yet. You should no...

There is no need for you to apply for a PR first. I had the same problem when applying for a British Passport for my child. Yes - I'm calculating your 5 years from the abolition date of WRS. If you can in fact retrieve some of your student time then your 5-years may complete earlier & you could then apply earlier; assuming all other requirements (absence, KOLL etc) are met. No, she cannot use any of her time as a studen...

The Passport Office is wrong about asking you to provide evidence of CSI. The CSI requirement was introduced on 20 June 2011. So there is no need for you to worry about CSI. Again Home Office shows how incompetent they are. You must know your rights and fight with them. From 20th June 2011 EEA natio...

If your son and daughter were born after May 2014, then you might want use as an argument the fact that extension of Working Registration Scheme in May 2009 was unlawful. In this case, your legal stay as a worker would have started in May 2009, making you exercising Treaty rights 5 years after this ...

You should be able to use the period June-October/2010 as a job-seeker as long as you prove that were actively looking for a job, ex. rejection letters. However I'm not 100% sure about this, see below for details of who to contact about that. Regarding WRS. If you started your employment before WRS ...
