Absence from UK using unpaid leaves

Hi all, I just want to give an update to you all about my ILR. I previously had a topic raised lots of discussion about if absence from UK using unpaid leaves affect ILR or not. I had 1 day authorised unpaid leave and I had used that leave for travel outside of UK. My ILR (5 year Tier 2 continuous l...

Re: is tax free childcare public funds?

Sorry for this late update. I think I have found the answer. https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare clearly says people from outside the EEA and your UK residence card says you cannot access public funds are not eligible. This means that there is NO OPTIONS for Tier 2 visa holder to have any kinds of...

is tax free childcare public funds?

Hi all,

The childcare voucher has been closed on Oct 2018. The alternative is tax free childcare.

As a Tier 2 visa holder who have no resource to public funds, can I apply and use tax free childcare? Is tax free childcare public funds?

Thank you in advance for your help.

It'a fine to do that (delay the start date).

Bear in mind it is not a legal requirement to serve the notice period. If your friend wants to go, he can go!
Thanks for your comment. Have you experienced this before? Or is there any part of immigration rules explicitly explained it?

Re: Changing the start date of new employment with Tier 2 General visa

You just need to ask your new employer to add a note on their Sponsor Management System with the new start date. The new start date should not be more than 28 days from the start date stated on the CoS, or the issue date of the new BRP, whichever is later. Is this applicable for scenarios after the...

Tier 2 Change Start Date after BRP Received

Hi all, My friend submitted his Tier 2 Change of Employer application on 13th May. He has successfully obtained a BRP on 2nd June. The start date on the CoS is 2nd July. He gave notice to his current employer, but his current employer wants him to work until 13th July which is later than the CoS sta...

Tier 2 Dependent Child - Police Registration?

Hi all, My daughter just received her BRP - a PBS (Tier 2) Dependent Leave to Remain. My daughter is only 7 months old. Does she need to register to police? I have checked gov.uk but it isn't very clear. My understanding is that people who are under 16 years old does not need to register to police. ...

Re: Tier 2 continuous period break by unpaid absence from UK

If the absence wasn't for serious nor compelling reasons, then was the absence for a purpose that is consistent with the applicant’s basis of stay here? Paid annual leave is an example of a purpose that is consistent with the applicant’s basis of stay here. If the employer approves an unpaid leave ...

What was the reason for your absence from the UK while on Tier 2 visa ? You are allowed max of 180 days from the UK in each year. However under Tier 2, absences must be consistent with or connected to your permitted employment or business activity being carried out in the UK, for example, business ...

Thank you for your reply. The total number of days during that period was 20 (8 of them was unpaid). This is also the total number of days out of the UK for that particular year, so no I am not going over the 180 days limit.
