Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

Hi all, I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but hopefully someone can help me: What exactly is a "Residence card of a family member of a Union citizen"? My wife and I moved to the UK just recently, her on a spouse visa. She promptly got her biometric residence permit, but is this the same th...

Your assumption is incorrect, as the information in your previous topic may affect the considerations in your current topic.
Ok, well the previous one can be closed then

Re: Are there 'hidden' requirements for Marriage/Fiance Visa

Hi all, My fiance and I recently met with some immigration consultancy to get their advice on possibility of a marriage visa. Now, according to what is laid out on gov.uk, we can meet all of the requirements for a marriage visa. We aren't married yet, but can do so soon, my current overseas positio...

Re: Are there 'hidden' requirements for Marriage/Fiance Visa

We did not, thankfully. It was just a friend of my fiance's.

May I ask then, assuming one meets all of the requirements relating to finance, english language and the rest, is an approval highly likely?

Best to just reapply in the same way then, I'm guessing.

Re: Do previous rejections impact future visas?

Hello, Last year my girlfriend tried to get a general visitor visa for Christmas to visit with the family. However, she was rejected on the grounds that they didn't believe she had sufficient ties to China to return. I can't say it was a massive injustice as she had no job at the time, only savings...

Re: Spouse/Fiance Visa - Using Family funds for finance reqs

Well, I do earn enough where I am currently based to qualify for the second option. I had assumed we would wed in England and go in on the fiance visa, but that was only really due to the mistaken assumption from my earlier post. It wouldn't matter too much to get married here - in China - and get a...

Re: Spouse/Fiance Visa - Using Family funds for finance reqs

Ah that's a shame, not sure why I thought it might be otherwise. It's too late to move money into an account of mine as well, unfortunately. I suppose I might as well use this thread to ask another question: As my father owns his own business, is there anything to stop him from simply offering a job...

Spouse/Fiance Visa - Using Family funds for finance reqs?

Hi there, My fiance and I are planning to move to the UK in the summer. At the moment we don't have sufficient savings to meet the financial requirements for a visa. Now, from what I have read, this leaves us unable to get a spouse visa, however I do recall reading that when applying for a fiance vi...
