Note that she is going to surrender her Indian Passport after getting British passport.

I don't think so. In the mail from home office, it clearly says, I must attend ceremony within 3 months. One more option ( Not sure if feasible) : Attend ceremony, get new British passport. Utter nonsense from UKVI.
If someone already has a visa and valid BRP. And it got lost why on earth it should take 6 months to get a new BRP card.

They should have all the details in the system that visa is valid and it just need a replacement.
