Re: Would my child get British nationality automatically?

Yes . However, any overseas born grandchildren may not be automatically British. Thank you for the prompt reply. This is probably why we've been confused as the guidelines say if a British child was born outside the UK then they can't give their children the citizenship automatically. We obtained t...

Would my child get British nationality automatically?

Hi,

We've obtained British citizenship several years ago and all family members are dual-nationals. We are considering to live abroad and would like to clarify if we have a new baby born outside the UK would that child obtain the British citizenship automatically or not?

Thanks,

Childcare for working and studying parents

Hi, I work full time and my wife is currently in full time postgraduate education, with a postgraduate student loan which goes towards the tuition fees. We had to put our 2 years old child in a nursery which costs a lot of money monthly! I was told that we could receive childcare support towards chi...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

On relation to BRP appointments if anyone could advise please: my payslips and bank statements are all PDF files sent to me by email from my employer and my bank. I uploaded these to UKVCAS. Do I need to print them for the BRP appointment or I MUST ask my employer and bank to provide original printe...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Thank you CR001 and CULLINAN. Yes we submitted the application and paid the fees on the 30th of June. It is just tough to think of being hanging for maybe 3 months or more until the applications jam has eased. Hope this tough situation goes away for everyone soon. Thank you for the prompt response....

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

We are in a bit of a panic state with regards to UKVCAS appointments, so any advice is highly appreciated. Is it really the case no appoints are available now whatsoever?! We submitted a SET(M) for ILR on 30/06/2020 and uploaded all documents. Since then we've been trying to get an appointment throu...

Re: Language qualification confusion

Thank you for the confirmation. My concern was mainly because the home office says B1 is effective from 6/4/2015 whereas the B1 certificate we have was obtained a week before that on 31/3/2015! The other challenge is the B1 certificate does not have unique electronic reference number and the SET(M) ...

Language qualification confusion

Hi, I went through other posts in the forum but couldn't see a case similar to mine hence am posting: My wife is applying for SET(M) as a spouse of a British citizen through the 5 years route. We were aiming to use her SELT Grade 5 B1 certificate from Trinity College which she obtained on 31/03/2015...

Yes he meets the 18600pa requirement and i don't mind taking the A2 as i'm already looking into that now. Many thanks Hi, Did you submit any language certificates for the first 2.5 years flr (fp) visa? I have a similar situation and I submitted a question in this forum but unfortunately no one was ...

Do we need another language test for FLR(M)?

Hi, My wife had her recent visa 2.5 years ago on the basis of 5 years partner of British citizen route (FLR-M) where she was granted a visa valid until the 2nd of Dec 2017. We are in the process of applying for another 2.5 years to complete the 5 years route. In the latest application FLR (M) appare...

FLR (M) extension for another 2.5 years

Hi, My wife had her first FLR (M) application successful 2.5 years ago on the 5 years partner route where she was granted a visa valid until the 2nd of Dec 2017. Now it is time to complete another application for the next 2.5 years. I've been looking around, my understanding is the application will ...

Re: British citizen and non-EU spouse, VFS global confuse me

Many thanks mate. I've chosen Yes to the question on being family member of EU. Weird enough the VFS website didn't require any details about expenses or invitation when I selected Yes, whereas when I said No it asked for finance details and many other things. Will take bank details and confirmation...

British citizen and non-EU spouse, VFS global confuse me!

Hi, I've seen similar posts but none covers the issues that am having. I am British citizen and my wife is non-Eu national. She holds UK visa (spouse of British citizen-2.5 years). We aim to go to Italy for a scientific conference that I am invited to and she is joining me as a tourist. 1- The type ...

Re: Travel to Schengen, without visa, for EEA-family members

Hi, Apologies if this is a repeated question. I actually went through many other posts but could not find an exact case like mine. My scenario is: - Myself and two kids are all British nationals - My wife has a resident permit (spouse of a UK settled person - obtained as FLR-M). We would like to go ...

Hi, This is the second time am posting this as my first post was deleted without even me breaking any rule of the forum, and I was not even notified why that was deleted. Thanks for your prompt answers CR001. I was hoping to get the whole family naturalised rather we get split every time we travel. I guess we have to live with that for few years.

Thanks,

Re: Spouse of British citizen ILR

Thanks CR001, I got my ILR based on 10 years stay. I was talking to someone who obtained ILR after 2 years of being a spouse of a British citizen because he was in the UK for 4 years before he got married, so they counted his time before being a spouse of a British citizen. Saying that this was 3 ye...

Spouse of British citizen ILR

Hi, I got British citizenship few weeks ago (10 May 2016) after 12 month of ILR. My wife came to the UK in 2011 as a dependant, and when I got ILR last year (March 2015) we switched her visa to partner of a settled person (FLR(M)). The question is, when can we apply for her ILR as a spouse of a Brit...
