Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

On the timelines subject, I've seen quite a few people say they received an email from a case worker asking for documents. Ive got my biometric appointment this afternoon and submitted my application back towards the second half of July. However I've not received an email from a caseworker asking fo...

Out of interest when they say 'all your original supporting documents', I take it they mean the actual passport etc and not photocopies?

Query on 'Employer Letter'

Can the letter from the employer contain both your employment status (salary, length of service etc) and the absences? I've seen a few people put them together as separate letters, but wanted to know if a combined letter was fine?

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

If they didn't close down for whole 2 months, this wouldn't happen. I can understand the immediate closure right after lockdown, but stopping an essential service for whole 2 months while doing nothing was a disaster. Supermarkets implemented the changes super quick, protecting shoppers and their e...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Quick question: as per the UKVCAS email from tomorrow (w/c 10/08) the new appointment slots will be released.. The email says that we will receive an email when the new slots hit the system. Is it worth waiting for their email or is it better to just keep on checking the system starting from tomorr...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

I've bitten the bullet and decided to 'opt out'. Considering I've now been waiting since April to get my application moving, anything to move it along I am prepared to do. Reading the email they sent out, it pretty clearly states that you should probably 'opt out' if you need it urgently or need to ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Why you all opting out? Is there any specific reasons Believe people seem to want to be opting out as there is an indication that it might be a 'faster process', based on the email we received. However, if literally everyone 'opts out' then surely it cancels it out - as getting an appointment will ...

Document Upload on UKVCAS 'Education'

Have a query around uploading of documents on UKVCAS, what needs to go under 'education'. I've passed the Life in the UK test, but don't believe I ever got a certificate (I sat it a month ago), I've just got a code and account which obviously says 'passed' - which I input on my application. Should I...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

I also received the email last night saying I am eligible for re use and around the app. One thing I've not done yet is upload my documents to UKVCAS and the email I received states the following 'This new, free to use, way of submitting information to UKVI will involve you taking a photo of yoursel...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Yeah and then they were really fast to re-introduce the Minimum Income Requirement from 1 August 2020 and increase the immigration health surcharge from £400 per annum to £640 per annum from October 2020 in the middle of pandemic. UK as a state did what they had to do during pandemic to rescue its ...

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Since most of us were working from home during the lockdown, not sure what UKVI and UKVCAS employees have done during that 2 month period when there was complete suspension of their services. That was the time they could have worked on developing some future solution like biometric reuse etc. to ov...

Lost BRP Query

I have applied for my ILR and have a current valid BRP card. However, this was a replacement card that I got last year - due to a lost BRP card.

Just wanted to know if it's worth mentioning to the application team that this was a replacement card, or if this is a non issue?

Re: Employer letter query

During the start of lockdown, our company put in company wide salary drop of 10% for everyone. This impacted me as well, so when I submitted my application it reflected the new salary. I am just wondering, as I already have my employer letter, is it actually worth mentioning they put a company wide...

Yeah this seems absolutely ridiculous now to be honest, it's now mid July and they are still messing around trying to get through a backlog. People need to get home, people need to leave the country and can't do that until they have there application processed.

I want to apply through super priority service, on child 7 year rule. But my solicitor is saying it will not open till next year, and I should apply by post. Need suggestions? Applied ILR T1 50k on 01st June 2020 Today at 01:10 received an email from HO that due to current pandemic the decision may take more than 6 months standards time. Just a thought but one would think the easiest way to ease the backlog after dealing with applicants who had applied before the lockdown is to reinstate super priority for new applicants ASAP.
You'd think that wouldn't you? Doesn't seem overly logical what they are doing.

Re: **** COVID19 and UKVCAS Biometrics Appointments **** (ONLY discuss here)

Dear all, I've just called UKVI (not CIH) and what I was told is they have to clear a backlog of applications and would not expect super priority service to be available again until a few weeks (he quoted 2 months). I asked about those that have no option but to apply now under standard service and...
