Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

Got a refusal from the HO today 25/07/15. The refusal paragraph states, "You were granted temporary admission to the UK on the 15 April 2008. Applicants are normally given Temporary admission to a specific address, and as such must not change address without obtaining permission from the UK Bor...

Born in Britain to non-British parents

Dear members. I have two friends born in London in 1994 and 1996 respectively to non-British, non-EU parents. The parents subsequently left after a couple of years when they were unable to secure residence as refugees.
Is there a way these friends of mine can apply for British citizenship?

Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

You should take the gamble and apply by yourself.
Amber has posted a very good reconsideration letter for someone somewhere on this forum. You can edit it accordingly and use it if it goes that far.
Good luck.

Passport renewal during naturalisation

I applied for naturalisation with an expired passport last October and I need to travel this coming October. Renewing my passport's timescale is more predictable than the HO naturalisation waiting time. But I'll need an ILR card or stamp as my ILR is the old stamp type. How will this affect my natur...

Re: Requesting original documents is it possible?

You can only do it online - https://www.gov.uk/visa-documents-returned.
Just be careful with your box-ticking. There's where it asks if you're withdrawing the application.

Re: May 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

I sympathise with you May '14 guys. I applied in Oct '14 but have toyed with the idea of withdrawing my application just to stop the stress.

Re: How do I bring my Fiancee and our daughter to the UK

I guess the only alternative is for your fiance to start training for those tests. It'll take a few years but you don't have much of a choice.
I know a friend whose French-speaking wife is doing the same.

Re: December 2014 - Naturalisation Application Timeline

Great news! I applied on the 3rd of December as well. Sadly, I'm still waiting to hear from them. Just worried as I was once refused a visa and was considered an "illegal immigrant" at some point. I managed to regularise my stay after that period but rumour has it that that is considered ...

@ weepnotchild, that will be helpful if you do that...hope it turns out well...Have you rang to ask about your application, any feed back or is it a mater of being patient  I've rung and been told that they have far too many applications. That's the cause of the delay, apparently. From what I...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Also, i fear that just in case they send it to wrong address and lets say post gets returned (happened for my son and then for my...
