You don't need NI card to see a doctor. To apply for NI yourself, ust go to a job centre office near to you. ok thanks and what do I do right now? Do I just turn up to the nearest GP and ask to register myself and to consult me? Also, my wife was luckier and her employer did provide her with a NI c...

I am from Romania. I did check the embassy website and it doesn't say anything about it, but I don't know why it got stuck in my mind that I have to do it at some point. Also, in Romania according to the law when you get employed somewhere you have to do some medical exams (just a formality really)....

fair enough. so, bottom line is that I have little chance to find a reasonable rental for a relative short term given the circumstances and the short notice, right? With or without this, should I obtain a reference from an ex-colleague that is a company director now? (well, his company, with one emp...

Any advice on lettings?

Hi
I got my WP now, and I have to start in 10 days. Any tips for a quick flat rental arrangement?

none. I am a non-EU citizen. At the present moment all I have is a visitor VISA that I acquired for the interviews. I have had several visit-business visas in the past, but I can't see how those can help.

Need help - work before workpermit

I have recently applied for HSMP (which I am pretty certain I'll get but in probably 6 weeks) and I have passed an interview and the company started a work permit but the solicitor advised it will be at least 4 weeks. The company is keen on getting me started ASAP. I wouldn’t want to let them down, ...

But Romanian company law? Is it the same? You are the sole shareholder and sole Director? Is there a Company Secretary? Or do you just have that junior employee? Usually the Romanian law is more twisted and more bureaucratic than the British one. You cannot have an active company unless you have at...

No, I am afraid I'm not. The thing is, if I would employ myself, I'd have to pay about 50% of the earnings to he government. Instead, I am just using the company to work and invoice and I take the money out as profit (dividends) which cuts the taxes down to about 12%. Because of the Romanian law, in...

Self employed experience points

Hello. I need some help on how to present my case – it is a straightforward one, though difficult to document. I am a senior software developer and for the last 4 years I worked as self employed (my own company, I didn’t employ myself but rather took the profit because the tax is so much smaller). I...

Are you sure? Have you read the "small print", in particular :- Once the vet has issued the PETS documentation and that six month period has passed, the PETS documentation is valid for your pet to enter the UK. When are you hoping to come to the UK with your pet? Or has the pet already go...

THANKS !

Yes, if you meet the rules! They are strictly applied ... do read the detail. Now that we know your country we can say that Romania is mentioned on this DEFRA webpage . All you need to do now is to make sure the pet is indeed within all the rules :- To bring your dog or cat into the UK under PETS f...

It is not clear which country you are from but this DEFRA webpage probably has the information you need. Excuse me if I'm being thick, but here is what I gather: I am from Romania, and it is listed here: http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/quarantine/pets/procedures/support-info/other.htm and also here...

Hi, Do you know that it would be easier if you could go to a vet and check all the procedures ,like blood tests and stuff to be send to UK, and you could pay someone in your own country, like a friend ou family to take care of your pet whilst wait for the period asked(6 months) to send it to UK. Th...

Is Full Representation HSMP Visa Service worth it?

I need to make this decision.
I notice the full representation is quite an expensive service: http://www.workpermit.com/uk/hsmp_services.htm#4
Is it worth it? does it significantly increase the chances of success?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions.
