Petition to keep IRIS Active!

Hi All, I'm not sure how many users on the board use IRIS at UK border control. Its a quick way for business travellers to cut immigration queues through the automatic barriers. There is a plan to have this decommissioned by the end of the year. There is a petition out there to keep this alive. if t...

TIER1 Applications

If you look at the link

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... 1/general/

it says that it is closed from applicants from abroad. It does NOT say now that its closed to in country applications too.

Is it that the website has not been updated?

cheers

Tier 1 (PSW) cannot be "renewed or extended". For "self-employed" Tier 1 (PSW) migrants, it is clear that being self-employed is not longer a career that they can pursue if Tier 2 is the only viable option for them to continue living in the UK. If a self-employed Tier 1 (PSW) is rich enough, he/she...

Options for persons self employed on PSW

Hi
Just wondering what the options for those who are self employed on PSW - Typically IT Contractors.

Needless to say there must be a lot of folks on the PSW and self employed due for renewal but unsure of what the options are as the T1 General is now closed.

Cheers

PSW Transitional Arrangements

Hi I learned from a Public Request for Information website that transitional rules for PSW to other schemes are still underway as of 26 Jan 2011 as disclosed by the home office. Basically as of now it seems that only tier 2 is the option which may change if there are any changes to allow PSW to swit...

Penalty Points

Hi I have been thru the NCS. what they ask is if you have had more than 1 PCN in the last 12 months. As per the guidelines, any PCN or points not awarded in court need not be declared on the application Also, I believe the only serious codes are DR for drunk/drug driving which need to be declared on...

ILR - Economic Activity

Hello,

Does one need to be economically active/employed while making an ILR application [Edit: Tier 1]. Is it ok if only the dependent is employed and not the main applicant?
Many thanks
