Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

I misread the posts at 6am. Oops!

You don't have the ordeal of the eea fp though! Fingers crossed for you.

My wife is settling in very well, she's just eaten 99.99% of an oversized English breakfast!

Re: EEA2 / FM-EFM Discussion thread

Hello everyone, Quick question. We are about to send off my wife's residence card application. She is a non eea just arrived in the uk on eea fp and I am an Irish national, having rescinded British nationality. We are sending 50 pages of documents, some of them original. Do we have to include a prep...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Thanks to common sense amongst Manila cfo staff, my wife is currently halfway here on a plane. We are delighted. Technically they could have made us wait two to three months. But we explained the european law was changing so they moved to issue the CFO sticker and cert just using our courier receipt...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

This was on the BBC website this evening, it appears an hour or so ago, regarding a release of documents today: The documents issued by the European Council on Tuesday briefly restate the broad areas of negotiation set out last week, including proposed limits on the payments of migrants' benefits, n...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Hi All, Our eea fp application was accepted the second time. I clarified amendments thanks to European directives and information from some board members really helped. Legally they didn't have a leg to stand on. They had treated me as British and what they had said about it being a marriage of con...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Hey Sp84,

I do supply teaching in England. I get plenty of work. It's a good route into ft if that's what you want. But teaching in England ft is generally no picnic! Ask me about it sometime if you want.

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

This is a strange reply: while a member state certainly does have the right to refuse an EEA family permit if they believe it is a marriage of convenience, as I understood it, they do not have the right to reject an application on financial earnings as with the UK settlement visa; this is starnge u...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

I would suggest that anyone applying for the renunciation should be prepared to wait over six months, based upon my experiences. My wife in the Philippines today went to collect her documents, as she was informed that they had been 'processed' by the Embassy. Cutting it short, she was given a reject...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

The letter came today! The email they sent out saying the letter had been sent on the 24th was wrong - it merely had been completed on that day. It was only posted on Monday. I spoke to a case worker and she had no answer - or apology - for what happened. Seriously, they haven't a clue. But I have t...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Just so people know what they are dealing with: I received an email this afternoon with this in: In your email you complain about receiving a letter asking you to provide evidence to prove that you are British.  You say that the letter does not make clear what documents are required to prove you are...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

That is strange Lisa, my wife has had no trouble registering in Hong Kong. Maybe it is linked to isp address, which of course can be covered over? Post the link to the website you have and I'll see if I can log in with our account (of which we can't complete yet!) Well, I rang that number yesterday ...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Hey all, The number above is not the border agency. It is 03001232253. That number is a private number. I have literally just returned from Hong Kong (cream crackered but happily married, yay! ) to find no letter from the Home Office :( The office is closed today it seems. I will try tomorrow; hopef...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Well I didn't get any updates through in my emails...so I presumed there was no more news on this thread. And I have missed at least three pages! Congratulations to everybody sorted. I am happy for you. I will read it in detail later. I'm in week 24. I'm off work today, preparing to fly out and get ...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

I gave you a reply, weeks ago. Under legislation, unless you have already renounced your British citizenship, if you are a dual national you will be counted as British if your husband is applying to enter the UK. Why else do you think people here are renouncing their British status - it's certainly ...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

I think I miscalculated and it will be 17 weeks from tomorrow.

From what I know, the Irish citizenship rules will count in the circumstances you mention. Check with Irish immigration; they should be much easier to deal with than the UK lot.

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

I am sorry it is affecting your marriage. Considering my marriage is set to be more or less six months after the process started, chances are it will not affect my situation. I will soon check if they have accidentally sent correspondence to my old address. Why is it taking so long? We cannot say ex...

Re: Renouncing British Citizenship to use EEA FP route

Hi again, Does anyone know if you are able to go to the office in Liverpool and speak to someone? My father is in the UK at the moment, I'm just trying to see if anyone knows if this is an option or not! Thanks :) No. They are not set up for that; they will just fob off your father, and under the d...

Re: 137 Pages EEA application form, what for exactly

Hi people, I am confused and I don't want to make a mistake. I will be marrying my non EEA spouse, who is living in the Philippines, in HK in December. My dual-nationality is being rescinded and by the time we apply for a visa, I will be Irish. I want to make sure if it is the EEA (FM) form I must u...

Entering Week 18. Not impressed, but they are under no obligation to deal with it until those six months are nearly up.
