Which passport?

I have been reading through the documentation required for a passport application as a newly naturalised citizen (as of today!) and I was also wondering about submitting my passport: can I get by with just submitting the passport I came into the country in, which is expired? I would like to be able ...

She is no longer a dependent as far as the UK Gov't is concerned. It's posted quite prominently, once you have ILR you have it in your own right. So tough nuts for the husband if he's trying to get her kicked out. If he's delaying the divorce (and UK law requires you be separated for 2 years before ...

Legal again!

Hi, guys, I got my papers back yesterday - I'm approved for three more years! Oddly though my cover letter said that since I'd originally applied (back in 2006) for the HSMP that my application was judged against the old HSMP criteria. Very confusing. On the other hand it says that with my three mor...

The waiting game begins.

Applied for HSMP to Tier 1 on August 5th, 2008 from UK. My application date was delayed by two weeks due to finding a new requirement for proving access to resources for spouse (£533 for three months) that required getting documents sent to me from the bank in the States. This was in addition to th...

Switching from HSMP to Tier 1

I have asked my company to support me with an attorney for this and they have just rung saying that there is currently up to three months wait for permits to be processed! This makes me very nervous as my sister is coming to visit in October so we can go to Italy together and I really don't want to ...

Trying to prove work experience with closed companies

So ... I'm trying to get proof of employment letters for my HSMP visa application, but two of my former employers (2 years experience of the 5 I need) are now insolvent. One no longer exists as a legal entity at all, the other appears to be strictly a post-office box. I cannot get a letter documenti...
