Re: No payment taken

I too have had endless issues with payments. Depending on what visa you applied for, the place you send your application is not the same as the one that reviews it. I sent my application to Durham and it was then sent to Sheffield. My wife's passport was sent back to me immediately (a couple of days...

Re: No payment taken for application fee

It is an atrocious service indeed. There are clear pros and cons for the online application. The payment can be made online, but the online questions are a lot more in depth. I had filled out the paper form to help me fill out the form online and it became immediately clear that the online applicati...

Re: No payment taken for application fee

My struggle continues... After some difficulty (outlined in this thread) I paid the visa application fee and this was taken from my account on July 26th. I think at this point it has been 11 weeks since I made the application. Yesterday I received another letter from UKVI stating that I have not mad...

Beyond service standard 8 weeks - no letter explaining why

I applied for FLR M extension (30 months after initial 33 month spouse visa) on 21 June. There is a service standard of 8 weeks and, if a decision cannot be made within that time, my understanding is a letter is supposed to be sent detailing why they cannot make a decision in that time. To date I ha...

Re: No payment taken for application fee

Just an update... Today I received a letter from the home office stating that I submitted an invalid application as i did not pay the correct fee. The letter stated that the issuing bank rejected the payment. I have confirmed with my bank that no attempt was ever made. I have checked the copy of the...

Re: No payment taken for application fee

Does anyone know how UKVI handle the visa fee? Would there ever be an instance where they perform the necessary preliminary checks and send the acknowledgement before taking the fee? I was told that the fee would be taken after it is handed over to a reviewing caseworker, but that seems very strange...

No payment taken for application fee

I recently applied for my first extension of FLR M by post. About 4 days later I received an acknowledgement letter and biometrics enrolment invitation letter. a few days after that I received back my wife's passport with a an accompanying letter stating that photocopies had been made. However, to d...

Re: Apply to remain in the UK with family - application help

My wife didn't earn any money in the two month interval. I was earning as a tutor and lecturer, but that ended exactly 12 months ago, since then nothing. No need to go into my swan song here. Although I would add that the T4 doctorate extension scheme was practically useless, as nobody seemed clued ...

Re: Apply to remain in the UK with family - application help

Cheers CR001. About 5k. Yes I see now. FLR(O) fee +NHS charge, then FLR(M) fee + NHS charge = double just the initial application. Not to mention, the FLR(O) is likely to be denied anyways. Just a question for the sake of curiosity. Why is the application based on income in the 6 or 12 months prior?...

Re: Apply to remain in the UK with family - application help

Thank you for the replies. This gives me a lot to think about. As stated in one of the comments, these seem like stop-gap measures to simply gain time. I hate having to be separated from my wife, but there is little advantage in destroying all our savings for the sake of an extra month together in t...

Apply to remain in the UK with family - application help

Thank you in advance for any advice re: my query. I (non-EU/EEA citizen) wish to make an application to remain in the UK with my wife. I have plowed through the lengthy application and we meet every criteria on the application (i.e. we live together, joint assests, married in UK, etc.). The only pro...
