They could also be asking for it because it has been 12 months since the first documents were sent in and they want more recent documents now so they are sure that they are still living together as a married couple. Exactly. For spouse of Irish citizens applications, despite legislation specifying ...

Now I see the reason why his application is taking soo long. His case is really complex!. How have you decided that his application is "really complex"? His attempt to enter the UK and subsequent refusal do not make this a "really complex" case. Ok, I hope you know that the possibility of the long ...

Should I keep the citizenship tracker site going?

Hi folks, As some of you may remember, I set-up the Citizenship Application Tracker a few years ago when citizenship applications were taking years to process. From what I can see, the timelines have now sped up, and I'm not sure of the value any more. Also, people don't seem to be updating their de...

Schengen visa required for naturalised Irish citizen w/o PP?

Regarding travel to Schengen countries - If a newly naturalised Irish citizen wishes to travel to an EU country and doesn't yet have an Irish passport, can they legally travel using the Irish Certificate of Citizenship, or do they need to apply for a Schengen Visa on their non-EU passport? According...

Thanks for the unhelpful and mostly rude or offensive comments by Dee1, Walrusgrumble and IrishEddy. Seriously, they were a joy to read. Just because citizenship has been granted, doesn't mean that you have to turn into a slavering idiot and drop all else ignoring the consequences. To close out on t...

Re: Gift Horse

There is an old expression :Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. How many of the 50,000 undocumented migrants would like to have your problem? Well nobody else except you seems to consider it a problem. Go ahead and say you have a prior arrangement. The mere fact that you have to ask shows that it...

Hi folks, Hubbie just received his invitation to the ceremony on April 1st. We have a holiday booked for those dates so are wondering about whether he can refuse this date for a future date, or whether we should cancel our plans to attend this ceremony. The invitation letter says the following: Atte...

"Without Condition" is Stamp 6, however no GNIB card endorsed with same will be issued, since Irish nationals are not registered by the GNIB. Only Irish citizens or persons who are entitled to be Irish citizens are eligible for the Without Condition endorsement. Thanks Ben. Yeah from what I read, a...

Agreed. I also don't see how difficult it is to schedule 6-12 ceremonies per year ahead of time and let applicants decide which date suits them best. Surely it's a waste of everyones time having INIS ringing applicants and applicants ringinig INIS. How difficult would it be to have a web form applic...
