Under section 3 (2) for my daughter what is acceptable proof of me living in UK 3 years before her birth as I don't have my old passport when I was young any longer would proof of my mother receiving child benefit for over 3 years be acceptable do you think or would immigration have a record of when ...

My daughter has stamp for 6 months at present and proving living here as youngster difficult although I presume school records and I would presume immigration would have a record when I was young coming into UK?

To apply is very expensive I am her dependant is there any other way she can stay in the UK without doing the citizenship route as when my brother and I grew up in England as children we didn't have british citizenship and we lived and went to school here before returning to nz

I can only do it under section 3(2) as I have not lived in UK for 3 years with my daughter I did live in UK growing up which was before her birth and was for 3 years. hi again just unsure what you meant regarding my son as i was not born here but am british citizen, so would he not be under the guise of british otherwise than descent? so he can apply for british passport under this ruling?

does naturalised mean they had british citizenship and i got it through them as our family ie my sister and myself were made citizens the same time as my parents as mum and dad were also born in south africa and my brother was born in the uk.? sorry to be a pain i just want to make sure before ...

sorry can i also check with you that he was NOT born in the UK but I was british citizen when he was born 1986. so is this still correct under the otherwise than descent scenario

can my son apply do you think for a british passport under the heading my mother is british citizen 'otherwise than by descent' as my son was born 28 may 1986 and i was given citizenship 1975 ????

no it doesnt say anything else about which acts etc. also what does it mean by otherwise than by descent i dont understand

forgot to mention my father has an MBE from the queen in uk for his contribution to sport as he was an athlete in the commonwealth games and won 5 gold medals for england.
