Registering child as British

Got ILR at last. Now submitted MN1 form for child born in the UK. Can anyone explain how to apply for a child's first british passport. The IPS website is not very clear as there is no mention of submitting child's BC registration certificate along with the application form. Should I take the passpo...

You should get right of abode stamped in your indian passport as your ILR is no longer valid ie automatically cancelled. If he gets right of abode stamped in his Indian passport then Indian authorities will know that he is a citizen of UK and that will put him in even a more trouble and worse situa...

Just an update

Spoke to NCS who in turn spoke to home office...

For those of you who are still not sure, it is not necessary to have ILR stamp in the childs passport if they are born in the UK and if parents have ILR. They can be registered directly using MN1

Technically your indian passport is not cancelled till you get your british passport but I suspect it could be tricky at the indian border

Must be a rumour or a misunderstanding. Cant find anything as of now to that effect. There is only 1 appointment each day at every PEO to apply in person on the basis of 10 year rule. Based on this, i think the call centre person must have told there are no more appointments for the next 6 weeks. Mi...

John, Thanks. Sorry, I did not make myself clear. My question was, should I also get ILR stamp in the chlid's passport as I have to make a separate appointment/ application and pay £1020 for this (long residence does not allow dependents). Instead can I directly apply on MN1 for registering him as ...

Sorry, I saw this thread after I posted my similar query earlier today.

I am a bit confused, as on the MN1 form, it does specifically ask when the child was granted ILR. Is this not contradictory to what some of the members have said?

Thanks

Permit free training and ILR

Hi All,

I have almost completed 5 years in the UK (2 years permit free training and almost 3 years on HSMP). Can I apply for ILR based on this? There is nothing mentioned on the bia website about this.

Thanks for the advise as always!

Can anyone pl clarify the maximum break one can have on hsmp (and at a strech) to be still eligible for ILR?

Can I enter UK (on hsmp) after 5 months of continuous stay abroad?

Thanks
