Re: Questions at passport interview?

Ok, hopefully this will help others as the previous thread is from 2011. There might have been a few minor questions I missed but this is the overall interview. Took about 15 minutes, not including a little social chit chat. Interviewer was upfront this was an interview to verify my identify. Travel...

Re: Questions at passport interview?

Yeh, thanks but that's not relevant -- I've taken British Citizenship, and when I applied for my passport they've invited me to an interview.

I'm looking for questions likely to be raised by Her Majesty's Passport Office at the passport interview. Not questions posed by staff at the border.

Questions at passport interview?

Ok guys, I applied for a passport on May 4th, and just received a letter asking me to attend an interview which I've booked for next week. I suspect this is necessary as my US passport expired about three years ago, and since I haven't had to travel I never renewed. I've reviewed the older thread ab...

British passport?

Guys

I took British citizenship in December 2015, many thanks to this site for helping.

Now I’d like to apply for a passport and was curious about your experiences i.e., online or paper with Royal Mail document checking?

Also timelines for each.

Many thanks for your help

Take care

Re: New British passport with expired US passport?

If I'm reading this correctly I should be ok. Full name on expired US passports matches full name on Naturalisation Certificate. Full name on two out of three Home Office letters matches full name on Naturalisation Certificate. Only one letter omitted my middle name, and it was a Home Office error. ...

Re: New British passport with expired US passport?

the name on my naturalisation certificate precisely matches that on the expired passports. The confusion arose during my three Home Office applications leading to ILR. Specifically, I had three interactions with Home Office before naturalising: my original work permit in 1997, an extension in 2000, ...

New British passport with expired US passport?

guys I had my British citizenship ceremony on December 23rd, once the New Year has passed I’d like to apply for a passport. Curious — my US passport expired November 17th. I was loathe to renew it since I applied for naturalisation on July 7th, but due to a spelling error with my middle name, the Ho...

Re: Name on Biometric wrong

Hi Home Office sent correct biometrics letter, but only after I sent (as said before) Royal Mail Recorded. I wouldn't waste time emailing or calling; to be fair, emails can bounce / not be received and messages may not be passed on. Be polite, explain the situation, mention you've called / emailed (...

Naturalisation spreadsheet on Google docs?

Curious if anyone knew what happened to the Naturalisation spreadsheet that used to be maintained here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j3TCV_JsSVDIbBJMfkQ4Kw42dqauWmSPHwobA5-9tac/edit#gid=0 Whomever owns it apparently write protected it, and sometime in the last day as it I seem to recall lo...

Re: Name on Biometric wrong

UPDATE: DAC000, did you address your letters to case worker or nationality biometrics? I wrote 'To Whom It May Concern', never a specific case worker. What I would do in your case is copy all correspondence you've received (both letters with the wrong date) and write a cover letter that clearly out...

Re: Name on Biometric wrong

They also said I should only contact them by email, not write to them because biometrics team will not respond and just wait. It is now 5 weeks and emailed...

Re: Naturalisation refused on the basis a deception

I wouldn't say impossible, but unusual. There was a guy asking about it in the ILR forum. Basically the company paid his PAYE as if his income was higher. HO discovered the scam and asked for more proof, ie bank statements which obviously didn't match the claimed income. Wow, yes, that would be pos...

Re: Naturalisation refused on the basis a deception

This is possible. For example if you deliberately inflate your income to meet your visa requirements, and then adjust downwards to get your tax back. To do this you have to file at least two tax returns with HMRC - your original then the amended. HMRC won't readily accept an amended return - one th...

Re: Naturalisation refused on the basis a deception

I just heard (authentic source) that someone application of Naturalisation was refused. It appears that HO made a substantive search and it has revealed that the applicant has amended his tax returns after his approval of visa and reduced his liability to pay. Are there any more details? It seems a...

Re: Name on Biometric wrong

DAC000, You had initially posted that you were refused at the post office. This time around, were you allowed because you showed the letter from the Home Office stating that you should enroll biometrics on the basis of the previous letter (without middle name)? Yes, the two letters were different. ...

Re: Anyone who recieved acknowldegement letter but not biome

I have a slightly different problem, got an acknowledgement but my biometric letter is wrong. Somehow they omitted my middle name and the Post Office refused to process. Re: May 2015 Naturalization Application TIMELINE ONLY

I think that is part of the problem - when people mailing them multiple times - their inbox must be bursting of duplicate emails and it must be a nightmare to sort through ... The fundamental problem is a lack of timely and professional communication. If they even just auto-replied to emails once r...
