Re: what happen to eea pr after brexit

A Document Certifying Permanent Residence is issued "pursuant to Directive 2004/38/EC". Therefore the basic position is that it will be null and void when the Directive no longer applies to the UK. The government would have to legislate specifically to avoid this, which is exactly what it refused to...

NARIC Application - Immigration Tier and Route

I will try to make this question clearer. I hope someone out there has been through this process. I am trying to use a degree from a majority English speaking country to meet the English language requirement. This is the page I am on:- https://www.naric.org.uk/visas%20and%20nationality/apply/registe...

Further to this I have tried leaving a question on the NARIC Contact Us page more than a week ago and got no response.

Re: How to complete NARIC Application

Red route takes me to the Visas and Nationality page where I already was. Apply online takes me to the How to Apply page Visas and Nationality portal takes me to the page where I have the query. Which contains the text:- "We will now ask you to enter your nationality, Immigration Tier and Immigratio...

Re: How to complete NARIC Application

I don't think that terminology is used any more since the NARIC web site was revamped. If you choose Hungary or any other EEA nationality on the registration page the "Immigration Tier" options are Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 4 Tier 5 Family, Settlement and Nationality Representative of an Overseas Business ...

How to complete NARIC Application

I am applying for naturalisation under the EEA route and have my PR document. I have a degree in Journalism from University of Nebraska Lincoln and have the original degree certificate. The current AN form (February 2017) clearly states that I will also need a UK NARIC document to prove, as if it sh...

Re: Online EEA PR and EU passport return service available

I have used the service and it is not a true online application - you still have to send it in as hard copy with originals of all the documents. The advantage is that it seems a good deal less daunting to fill in than the 85 page paper version, and you only print out the bits actually filled in. Min...

Exact course name not listed on Points Based Calculator

I have a university degree from the USA which ought to satisfy the English language requirement, and am trying to use the Points based Calculator as directed. I can find the institution (University of Nebraska Lincoln) listed, but only a handful of the degree courses that are (or ever have been) off...

Re: EEA national and married to UK citizen

OK so it's the proof of exercising treaty rights that catches out people in my position (as opposed to single people who would have entered the UK primarily to take a job). For the first year after the WRS ceased, I worked part time as a journalist for a Hungarian client, my husband paid me and invo...

Re: EEA national and married to UK citizen

So does that mean I should apply for a PR document first and apply for citizenship after I have it?

EEA national and married to UK citizen

If you're an EEA national you can apply for citizenship after 5 years of living in the UK and exercising treaty rights... If you're married to a UK citizen you can apply after 3 years of living in the UK with indefinite leave to remain... But I find the guidance very unclear about how these two fact...

Hi I am a Hungarian citizen who has just tried - twice - completing the AN form. Below is a summary of my position 1. Married a UK citizen in Budapest in 2002 2. We moved and settled permanently in the UK in April 2010. As our child was still young enough to need me at home full time, I did not imme...

Re: Citizenship - English language requirements

Naturalisation - no WRS registration

I am a British citizen married to a Hungarian. My wife came to the UK in 2010 and was initially self-employed continuing to work for a Hungarian client. With a few weeks of arriving she obtained a UK national insurance number, but by the time she started work for a UK employer the WRS was already de...
